José María Rodríguez Ramírez

I am a PhD candidate at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), where I am developing my research at the intersection of food systems, public health, and sustainability. My academic path has allowed me to integrate perspectives from several fields, holding M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry (specializing in Biochemistry and Physical Chemistry) and Nutrition and Health, alongside a B.Sc. in Business Studies. This background is further supported by project management training, including certifications in APQP4Wind Project Management and Silver PMP (DSM Academy)
My doctoral research focuses on the methodological foundations of food policy evaluation, specifically exploring the synergies and trade-offs necessary to transition toward healthy and sustainable diets. Since October 2025, I have been a doctoral fellowship recipient at the UOC for my project: “The Role of Synergies and Trade-Offs in EU Food Policies for Sustainable Diets: A Delphi Method and Case Study Analysis”
