Mariëtte Geyser

Dr Mariëtte Geyser is a South African agricultural economist, senior lecturer, and researcher. She's been a Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Economics in the School of Economic Sciences at the North-West University since August 2019. Dr Geyser holds a Doctorate in Financial Management from the University of Pretoria (achieved in 2002). She has also served as the Chair of the Nedbank Chair in Commodity Finance and Risk at the University of Pretoria, a market researcher at the ARC Institute for Soil, Climate and Water, and an insolvency practitioner at Fort Trustees in Pretoria.

Dr Geyser specialises in agricultural economics, regenerative agriculture, financial management, risk management, commodity derivatives, sustainable finance, and climate-smart agriculture.
