Madalina Croitoru

After obtaining my BSc in Applied Mathematics in Iasi, Romania (2002) and my PhD in Computer Science in Aberdeen, Scotland (2007) I arrived in Montpellier in 2008. Since 2019 I am a full professor at the University of Montpellier. I am doing my research in the IDH research team of the Robotics department in the LIRMM laboratory and teaching at the Department of Computer Science of the Faculty of Science. Since I came to Montpellier I have supervised 10 PhD students and 3 postdoctoral researchers working in numerous national and international projects. I am equally a second year PhD student in Cognitive Science at the University Paul Valery under the supervision of Nathalie Blanc.

My second PhD thesis investigates how human emotions affect the interaction with ChatGPT like bots with a focus on middle school children education. My current research as a professor focuses on human-machine cognitive interaction with a particular focus on dialogues (deliberation, negotiation, inquiry etc.) and/or normative systems. I am both interested in analysing the computational aspects of such interactions and in the study of the human experience.
