I am a Fellow of the UK Faculty of Public Health (through accredited training and experience), with research interests in chronic disease risk factors such as obesity and alcohol overconsumption.

I joined the University of Sunderland after two years with University of Sheffield's alcohol research group where I was working on local alcohol policies. Prior to Sheffield I completed an MRC Career Development Fellowship at the Scottish collaboration for Public health research and policy, based at the University of Edinburgh.
