Caroline Miehe is a Research Associate in the Division of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics (DAFRE) at KU Leuven and holds a PhD in Economics. She specializes in development economics, with a focus on agricultural technology adoption, gender dynamics, and climate adaptation. Through randomized field experiments and primary data collection, she studies how economic principles – such as decision-making under uncertainty and asymmetric information – can inform strategies to strengthen the resilience of communities confronting poverty and climate change in sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining DAFRE, she worked at NOVAFRICA (Nova University Lisbon), the Development Economics Group (Wageningen University), and LICOS (KU Leuven).
