Annaliese Claydon

Originally from Alaska, I now live and work in Lutruwita/Tasmania. I am interested in telling multilayered stories of exploration, whaling and sealing in the polar regions. I am the recipient of several grants and awards, among them dissertation funding from the American Council of Learned Societies, the Social Sciences Research Council, and the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities. I have also worked as an archivist in the Tasmanian Archives, and as a professional historian for the National Park Service in Alaska in the Alaska Affiliated Areas Program, where I provided technical assistance to Indigenous-owned National Historic Areas.
