I am a Principal Lecture in the Accounting, Economics and Finance school of the University of Portsmouth.

As an economist, I enjoy using economics to understand real-life situations and helping others use data to make decisions. My expertise lies in finding hard to reach and unusual data, as well as conducting and interpreting surveys. At its core, this work seeks to make the invisible visible: to quantify social, environmental, and economic value where it is currently intangible, under-measured, or entirely absent from decision-making.

Over recent years, this agenda has been advanced across several applied domains, including the environment, health, crime and policing, and social impact. While these projects span different sectors, they are unified by a consistent methodological and conceptual approach: enabling organisations to use robust economic evidence to inform strategy, strengthen funding cases, and influence policy.
