Typeshift is the modern anagram puzzle; re-imagined from the ground up, combining wordplay, modern game design, and a mobile-first approach.
In most anagram games, you search for new combinations within a single word, but in Typeshift, you search within three to five words stacked & scrambled up together.
Shift columns of letters up and down as you try to spell words in the center row. Play continues until you have used all letters in a puzzle at least once.
Special Clue Puzzles combine Crosswords with Anagrams as you match clever clues provided by Typeshift's various puzzle authors.

This mesmerising word game takes a winning idea—gameplay that resembles lockpicking—and runs with it. Sliding columns of letters up and down to form words is brain-teasing fun, and moving those dials feels genuinely good in a way we didn’t expect. We’re enjoying all the puzzles, but the ones with crossword-style clues really show off the quirky humour we adored in Zach Gage’s earlier games (like Ridiculous Fishing and Really Bad Chess).
Just one niggle!

Really engaging game and good value with frequent updates. My only gripe is that it won't work if I'm offline - it crashes every time. My phone games are most often used in offline places so that's a real pain!
Too many ads

There are so many ads, and the ads are so intrusive, the game is just not fun to play. I know some of that is the platform but assume app (or game) devs have some control as well. Example: just now I had a 30 second ad. (For a stupid looking game I have 0 interest in but that keeps getting pushed at me dozens of times per day). At the end of the 30 second ad, it just kept going (no option to “x” out of the ad). Waited about 10 seconds but still no option. Clicked on the screen to see if X appeared. No…. I was just bounced to the App Store to try to get me to download the game. Back to the app. Another timer that I had to sit through with more pitches on this same game. Finally was able to close the ad. Deleting this app as it is not worth playing with the intrusive ads.
not British English!

For a word game in English on the UK app store, it is infuriating that this is full of United States-ese rather than English, making for very frustrating gameplay. I thought it was just a setting issue, that I could just select the appropriate pack, but no such luck. Email to the support address from within the app has gone into a black hole, no response at all. I have no problem with a developer choosing whatever language they wish for their app but for an game based on English spellings sold in the UK not using our spellings is a problem!
