I have the RP vegan templates which I love and have had great success with. I downloaded a free trial of the app to see what it’s all about, even though they have said it’s not suitable for vegans yet. I really liked using the app. It makes things very straightforward and I can see how it would be really good to keep you on track. I like how you can do weigh ins and it will continually adjust your cals for you. I think the main buggy thing for me was that if you go over on a certain macro it didn’t tell you how much by, just that you had met that macro amount. I think this would make it easy to go over your cals quite a bit if you aren’t able to see the amounts exactly? Oh, and as others had said, it is very fiddly to get the right numbers with the toggle. Other than that, I can’t wait for the app to be suitable for vegans so I can start my mass & cutting cycles using it!
Brilliant app that helps keep you accountable

Being new to strength training (18 months in) I’d put on a bunch of weight, so wanted to attempt my first cut. The internet is full of solutions but it can get a bit overwhelming, especially when trying to work out ideal macros for keeping lean mass on, so I decided to keep it simple and install the RP Diet app having heard good things about them in the past from athletes such as Rich Froning. I started my cut having no real idea of calorie goals and found the meal building aspect of the app incredibly useful. Once I found what worked for me in terms of meals/shakes, it was just a case of weighing in regularly, following the program and keeping myself in check. I did have a few occasions where I went over my cals (usually on weekends) and really appreciated that the app will look at your weekly average before giving you options on extending your diet length, adjusting your calories, or your goal. This was really useful, and while it did cut my carbs to a very low level, I never found myself running out of energy on my daily 5:30am CrossFit workouts. I’m now down to 10% body fat, my strength hasn’t declined at all as I’m still regularly hitting new PB’s or matching them, so I couldn’t be happier with how things have gone. My next step is a maintenance period which again I’ll use the app for, then a long bulk. I wouldn’t have had a clue how to achieve this without the help of the RP Diet app, so I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone no matter your goals.

1. You must build your own meals. You will have a library of recommended foods but you still must select those and adjust values.2. Once you do that (best spend a day or two to pre-plan your meals) you can save “food combos” and load those before each meal when you select what to cook3. Otherwise you can do the same as MyFitnessPal and just log what you are (not recommended).4. Ok, now you just eat when the app tells you to, and how much it tells you to. You’ll check in twice a week with your weight, and once a week it will review your progress, allowing you to adjust macros depending on your hunger/fatigue levels. 5. Profit? I mean healthier weight. Or better gains. Or both ;)There’s a lot more in terms of scheduling your busy periods and workouts (so it will adjust meal times/macros to fuel your workouts) or length or types of diet but that is all great.4.7/5 because I think the app is missing:A) Lack of pre-built meals. This is my biggest issue. There are libraries of recommended foods, why not libraries of food combos? Perhaps split into meat/pesceterian/veg categories? B) Workout diversity. Currently they can only be Weights, CrossFit, or Other. Why there isn’t cardio perplexes me. I’m dieting guys, I’m doing cardio! Also, since Dr Mike himself does BJJ, I’m surprised there isn’t BJJ/Grappling category. But that would be a cherry on top. C) In line with the above, perhaps allowing to inject your workout from tracking device (Apple Watch/Fitness or FitBit etc.) would be great?

Interested App focusing around macros, did not take me long to workout how to use, I am Personal trainer so was excited to be able to find a app that’s lets me adjust my own chosen foods by sliding the food bar for example by each gram for each food and then see the macro count change, however only downside is I’ve scanned the barcode of 16 items of food from my cupboard and unfortunately none of the items are recognised, simple suff like pasta, peanut butter, protein powder, milk, even a tin of tuna maybe it’s because I am in the UK and this app is more US probably would have sign up for the subscription had I be able to scan foods I use into this without having to use the manual input for each . great app based on Marcos per meal that’s important, would be nice to see the actual recommend calories for information only especially as the app updates the food amounts each week based on weigh in be nice to know actually how many calories is recommended but still obviously focus on the Marcos yes focus in on Marcos only on the app I get that but.. hopefully you guys update the scan food part to allow for UK food brands .has great potential be nice to also have the option to have multiple users I could see how I’d be able to use this for my coaching client base then Also Annoying I can’t copy one days whole plan into the whole week or other days having to manual input each day when it nice to be be able to copy over from another day before like a saved day menu option to copy over very time consuming otherwise

Thank you for your feedback! As we work to improve our international food database, you can add any food you would like right into the app using the custom foods feature. We still recommend that at least 80% of the foods should be coming from the basic foods list. If you ever have any questions, please reach out to us at app.support@rpstrength.com
Saved Meals are here.
Save the foods you eat over and over, including amounts, preparations, and locks. Then drop that meal onto any other meal in your plan. Locked foods land exactly as you saved them. The rest are re-calculated to fit that meal's macros.
If you used food combos, they're waiting for you. Every untouched combo is now a Saved meal, no setup needed.
Also in this release: the Pantry's empty tabs now tell you where recipes, custom foods, and saved meals come from, you can create a Saved meal without leaving the Pantry, and recipe/food artwork got a cleaner look.
