Very well designed system for keeping track of nutrition status. Finding my regular foods is so easy, e.g., cod liver oil only requires ‘cod’ and it suggests it right away. I like the recipe feature. For instance, I have written a recipe for my homemade bread and fruit cake, which are stored on the app; then weigh each slice before I eat it and enter the amount. I often tweak and edit the recipe from week to week, which is no problem. The app even allows me to enter the cooked weight of the bread or cake. This is so useful as a lot of water is lost during the baking. Personally I only deal in the weighed quantity of foods….not in ‘servings’. I like it to be precise as possible. I have a small digital kitchen scale which makes that easy. However, you could use servings if preferred. As the day progresses I can check how many calories, fats, protein, carbohydrates and nutrients I’ve consumed. By the end of the day, I check if I’m short of any vitamins or minerals etc., which helps me adjust consumption of the necessary foods. My preference is to do a week or two of detailed food recording, weighing everything I eat. Then take a break from it, as it is time consuming. I only occasionally eat out and never buy ready-made meals, so I have a lot of control over what I eat. I’m very happy with the app.

This app has been life-changing and I’ve only been using it for a week if that, but it felt like the missing piece to a 4 year puzzle with my food journey & food health these last few years! I particularly wanted to wean of my vitamin supplements for my plant-based diet as I integrate more whole foods, non-processed & organic, and this has helped me to do that more confidently; as it outlines comprehensive details of your vitamin and mineral intake as you input what you have eaten for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can customise your macronutrients, and it has so many brands/foods for you to input into ur daily food diary. So far I’ve been able to intake all the right nutrients and stop 3 of the supplements i was taking before saving me so much time and money, and making my health management so much more advanced, efficient, and progressive!Love this so much! Thank you for creating this amazing app; I can’t get enough!
Great App… however slight improvements could make it a 5

This app is great has all the features you need in a calorie tracking app and it tells you all the details you need to know and even extra information if you are really meticulous about all the different types of vitamins etc. The only thing holding it back from being a 5 star rated app is that there should be more ethnic foods in the app. A lot of the time I and I am sure many others who use the app have to constantly select other foods which are not very similar to the ethnic foods they eat to make sure they log in their food intake even though what they ate is drastically different to what they selected. This causes a problem as the calories, carbs, fats and proteins may be very different to what they actually consumed which leads to a mismatch on what they actually consumed compared to what they put in the app. Making ethnic foods from all backgrounds e.g. South Asian, Eastern, African, South American and many more areas around the world and putting them in the app for ease of access would take this app to a pure 5/5 and nothing else could top it. This is literally there only point of improvement but it is a must have app and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to track what they eat.

Recipe creation and food log issue
Emskee)
A really good app, for the most part, and I have been using the free version for a couple of months. I do really like it and will continue to use it. But I would love a response from the creators regarding the recipes and food logs….. When I create a recipe and add ingredients, write the method etc. and then save….It does show up on my custom tab. However, how on earth do you then view the ingredients list?? I can see the macros and stuff, but if I want to recreate it, I can’t see the actual list of food. I hope there’s somewhere that shows this and I’m just being dumb?? Secondly, the daily food log. I do have similar foods every day, so have scanned and saved them to favourites, but as I add new food, the ones I use regularly seem to drop off and I have to then search for them again, is this meant to happen and does it only happen in the free version? I want to upgrade to the gold option, but if this happens there too, I’m just not willing to pay to have this same isssue every day… otherwise it works fine if you don’t mind faffing about trying to find foods you’ve already logged :)

Hi there! Thanks so much for your thoughtful review and for using the app these past couple of months, we’re glad to hear you’re enjoying it overall! For your first question about recipes: you can view the full ingredients list by going to Foods > Custom Recipes and selecting the recipe you created. You should see your ingredient list there. If this isn’t showing for you, please reach out to us at support@cronometer.com so we can investigate further. For your second question about your daily food log: we have a Most Recent filter in the food search, which should make it easier to find your commonly used foods quickly. If you tap on that, your most recent items should appear at the top of the list. If this isn’t happening on your account, our support team would love to troubleshoot with you. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback. We rely on input like yours to make the app better, and we hope these tips help you get the most out of it!
This release includes a few bug fixes to keep things running smoothly. Thanks for reporting these issues — keep the feedback coming!
