In these times when families live withdrawn into their homes, fathers around the world are making headlines on social networks or video sharing platforms.\u00a0Enough to provide an antidote to the anxiety generated by the Covid-19 epidemic.<\/p>\n

In their forties, some have proven their percussion skills with kitchen cupboards, in\u00a0reference<\/a>\u00a0to the famous drums solo by Phil Collins, others have gone around their home looking desperately\u00a0for something to repair<\/a>\u00a0, others have pretends to break the confinement rules to go for a\u00a0coffee at the counter<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0We could see fathers operating plush toys or\u00a0learning<\/a>\u00a0family\u00a0choreography<\/a>\u00a0.<\/p>\n

While more serious reactions can be expected from parents in a world in crisis, it must be recognized that humor, laughter and cheerfulness build resilience and can help find strategies to manage and reduce stress.<\/p>\n

By cultivating a happy state of mind, we acquire an important resource to create links and gain mastery in the face of these events that we cannot, by definition, control.\u00a0Not all games or jokes end in laughter, but it helps maintain a\u00a0disposition for optimism<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0As\u00a0Doctor Madan Kataria, initiator of\u00a0laughter yoga<\/a>\u00a0,\u00a0says<\/a>\u00a0, “laughter does not necessarily solve a problem but it helps to play it down.”
