Let me begin by saying that I absolutely love ProtonMail. To the extent that it almost feels sinister in the level of brand loyalty I feel. That said, when taken in against the attention to detail and quality I see and experience throughout my everyday, while using their other components, this feels pretty lacking. It’s useful for push or when the web app is running a bit slow (which is just to be expected of a web app, and which Safari is mainly culpable), but 9/10 times, I’d rather wait and use that, as their normal version looks and feels 10x better in using. Then there’s the beta in all its sleek, dark glory, which is doubly nice (sometimes a little laggy on my phone, however it’s a beta and to be expected. Anyways, I would so love to see this app get a little more lovin’, since it has the potential, based on the foundation of its platform to be the best of its kind. This wouldn’t matter so much, were we given options to use something like Newton, Spark, Canary (what I use for other accounts currently), or whatever your personal client of choice may be. To their mobile app division’s lead dev, I would recommend taking a look at Hey (recently released by BaseCamp) for cues by which to enrich the app, but that’s just my own little suggestion. Otherwise, to the team as a whole: thanks for creating and continuing to create the best email service in existence. You guys have my support, figuratively and by way of my annual membership dues for years to come.
Hello! We are constantly working on improving the mobile apps, and they are currently being redesigned so many of these features will come out in the 4.0 version. Thank you for your patience.
