I've been using iStats Menus 6 for a couple of years now (license shows it was purchased in 2021.) Read some reviews this is a great upgrade if you have Apple Silicon so I took the plunge. It's a good start, but very clearly has quite a few bugs still. I can't seem to get the different UIs to follow light/dark mode. I set them, but only 1 option seems to show. I also am not able to add any additional locations for either weather or clock. It has the default "current location", but doesn't ever let me add a new one. The multiple cities on the clock is a deal breaker for me as I can add the locations of my team around the world and easily see their local time. I've uninstalled and gone back to v6 (which lets me add weather and clock locations...so it's not some DNS/computer issue) for now.I may try again in a couple of months once they've pushed out a few releases since I've already paid for it, but for now, I'd recommend staying on v6 for now.

I’ve been using iStat for years now (since before Apple Silicon.) With my recent purchase of a Mac Studio, I decided to buy version 7 and installed it on my M1 Air and the M4 Studio. I like it. It still gives me a lot of the information that I still find very useful.I tried the free version of 7 first, installed iStat Helper, and it worked (almost) perfectly. After I purchased the paid version however, the various “history” windows no longer work on the Studio or the Air. I like to keep an eye on certain info over time, and until it’s fixed, I can’t. (yes I’ve tried reinstalling and rebooting.)There’s also an error specific to the MacBook Air installation: I can’t get the power usage to show up in the menu bar like it does with my desktop.I’ve used this program for years and I really like it and have come to rely on it — please please fix it.

Nice additional functionality, and very pretty, but some key things appear to be missing or broken which has me reaching for the old version, specifically, I cannot figure out how to get network graphs per-interface anymore, and none of the graphs show history - I did try the ‘delete database’ option but did not notice any improvement. Hopefully these are just bugs that will be fixed in which case I’ll adjust my rating - until then, back to the old it is for me.

I've been using iStat for years happily. They now asked me to update form 6 to 7 and I don't mind paying for good software. Unfortunately, while there are some nice improvements in the visualizations, it's incredibly buggy. The settings don't propagate to other screens, half the time it still shows the old graphs, the colors don't update properly, and it's exceedingly hard to restart the app, to name a few examples. They should have put in a lot more work before asking all users to update to this bad new version.
