We were surprised by some of the results of our dog’s recent DNA test but not surprised by others. I found the 26% supermutt delineation hilarious but upon further review of what was included in that supermutt is where I found the breeds that I thought were in our dog. We thought we were getting a labrador and she is 50% labrador but the great Pyrenees and border collie that make up the other roughly 25% we’re surprising. The listed behaviors of those other breeds were right on point and now make so much sense. I’m glad I invested in having her DNA done and I’m glad I used Embark. The cost was reasonable. The processing time, the notifications along the way and the breakdown of the outcome are top-notch. If you’re curious about your dog’s DNA I would recommend you use Embark. I will certainly use it on future dogs earlier in their lives so that we can know how to best provide for their care.

It's really cool! If you've already done a human one you know how this works but in case you don't know....It doesn't just show what she's made from, it shows her bloodline if accessible too. For my dog, it's shows she's pit and boxer. It shows soooo many of her family and in what states they are in. It's been pretty fun for us to see pictures of some of her bloodlines. She was a shelter rescue. She is absolutely the best dog ever. She's mostly Pitt bull (oh no🙄🙄) and boxer. We really want to do this with our very old dog and tried but he is NOT receptive to anything touching him, especially in his face. Unless it's treats or pets. Unfortunately he has to suffer through the kisses as well. He is our biggest mystery. They are sending us a second test for him since something was wrong with the first one!! I also wanted to say I was really impressed on how fast the results were. 5 ⭐️'s from me!

I decided to get the heath and DNA test done for my dog as we found him running through fields several years ago and never knew anything about his DNA aside from the fact that he was part cattle dog. I received the test within a few days after purchasing it, and activated it on the 6th. It’s been less than a month and I received so much feedback on his breeds, potential health risks and general information that can be beneficial for him. So happy with having gotten the testing done with Embark!

Some things I was expecting because of what I was told his Breed is. However, a little bit surprised 😳about the St Bernard at the bottom. 😂. I believe this is going to lead me to want to know more about how to train better. Now my research begins on the temperament of each one of those types. One question that was answered was how much he has a a propensity towards for things. Maybe that’s the Foxhound. Overall, it’s not necessarily a happy or sad with the results. DNA is what it is.
