We're excited to announce a new update for Candies 'n Curses, which has just dropped! We know it's been a while since our last bug fix, and we genuinely appreciate your patience. To make it worth the wait, we've included several bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, a brand new Charm, and some fresh Candies and Curses for you to enjoy. We hope these additions make your spooky adventures even more fun! New Additions Bookworm Key (Charm): Start the run in the Undead Library and get 2 random Curses. (Leaderboard mode clear times disabled) Volt Jolt Jelly (Candy): Small chance to Zap another ghost after destroying one. Ghoulie Gumpop (Candy): Soul Heart drop chance increased x5. Phantom Feast Curse (Curse): Gain 4 Soul Heart Points when collecting Hearts at full health. Heart meter fill speed x0.25. Improvements Upgraded the Google Purchasing API - this should resolve a lot of purchasing issues. Necro Scythe changes: Bubblegum Bones now spawn puddles at level 3. Bubblegum Bones now spawn bone projectiles at level 4. Enemy hitboxes have been improved. Assist Mode: Lowers ghost room counts, halves damage taken, and lowers boss health (can be turned off in settings). Leaderboard times will not be posted while assist is on. Removed the "Lose all Health" Maltose effect. Fire Spirit Health lowered to 4hp Ghost King's health lowered to 4hp The countdown timer from pausing no longer displays in Treasure Rooms or when the room boss has been defeated. Increased the time it takes for pickups to despawn. Based on your current combo, Firefly, Torchfly, and Virusfly lantern orbs will now increase in speed. Necro Wisps only spawns poison floor tiles during the Necro Scholar CC boss. Ghost Gifts spawn ectoplasm upon being damaged. Bug Fixes Save logic has been upgraded to fix various save bugs. Fixed a bug that caused Flashlights to sometimes not deal damage. Fixed a bug that caused Molli to jump very high off-screen.

MANSION MAP When talking to Bunber for the first time, he'll grant you the Mansion Map. Use the Mansion Map to participate in Free Play Mode! Select any stage or boss you'd like to visit and transport there in an instant! Drag 'n drop any Candy or Curse you'd like into your TREASURE slots to experiment! It's a great way to practice - or just have some chaotic fun! BALANCE CHANGES • Phantom King will shoot exactly 4 eye candy peppermints instead of randomly shooting 4-8. Developer Note: The randomness of this attack had implications on the speed running community and felt too long after 4. • Phantom King / Phantom King Omega peppermints now have smaller hurtboxes. • Phantom Worm's worm parts wait 10 frames before becoming invulnerable after being damaged. Allowing the player to damage a second worm part if the damage source is another entity. Developer Note: Speeding up bosses was a big part of this patch • Phantom Worm no longer moves slowly after attacking if it was damaged before attacking. • Reduced spitter spider screen shake. • Bubblegum Bones & Bubblegum Wraiths will now count towards the defeated count. Developer Note: King's Beacon and Necro Scythe's were 2 of the lowest used flashlights in the game, we're hoping this change increases that. • Reduced Fire Spirit's health to 5 from 6. • Reduced Necro Witch's health to 5 from 7. • Reduced Jack's health to 5 from 8. • Reduced Phantom King's health to 4 from 6. • Reduced Necro Scholar's health to 5 from 7. • Reduced Pyro Jack's health to 6 from 8. Developer Note: Most boss fights felt like they were taking too long to finish, we decided to lower the health of those that bothered us the most. • Necro Scholar's falling skull attack now does not increase in speed when she's at a lower health. Developer Note: The increase in speed felt unfair and too hard to dodge for most players. • Hopscotch does not eat your souls anymore, he'll jump every 3 seconds. Developer Note: We felt Hopscotch was under used because he was taking players souls. IMPROVEMENTS • Better error messages when trying to recover your account. • Removed the Ads Free iAP from the store while the Ads Free Combo Pack is still on sale. • Clicking the Ads Free button after a game will display Bunber and the price for purchase, if the launch sale is still active, the Ads Free Combo Pack will be shown instead. • Removed the What's New popup for players that have already seen it. ACCOUNT CHANGES • Tako Account save uploads are less frequent than before to save us on server costs. Here are some tips for uploading your save: 1. Manually upload your save by clicking on your Tako Account Username in settings and clicking "Upload Save". 2. Putting the game into the background will automatically trigger a server save. • You need to be connected to internet in order for Tako Account saves to be uploaded. • Does not effect local saves, those that do not use the Tako Account system or need their save to be uploaded for any reason should not worry. • Online saves are primarily for players that: 1. Want to delete the game but download it again. 2. Use multiple devices to play. 3. Want a backup in case their phone is damaged. • Settings now has a button to see more account options, these include: • Log out of your Tako Account. • If you log out you are able to log back in or create a new account. This will copy your progress over to the new account. • Upload your local save. • Manually upload your local save to the server, since these uploads are less frequent now you may want to do this before playing on another device. • Delete your save. • Deleting your save will not delete your Tako account but just reset your progress.

Olly might know... • Talking to an NPC in the manor wearing a costume will give different dialogue! • If you see a pink star next to the costume, it means you've heard all the dialogue for that costume! • If you see a gold star next to the costume, it means you've beaten the game with that costume! - Bug Fixes - • Fixed a bug that caused Molli to be outside the mansion walls. • Fixed a bug that caused the Necro Scythe to freeze the last frame played when hitting a wall. • Fixed a bug that caused the bubble gum shield to be invisible when reviving. • Fixed the menu title for exiting a run early so the title fits on the popup. • Fixed a bug that allowed players to equip charms to blocked or locked slots. • Fixed a bug that would show double spawn animations for some allies. • Fixed a bug where the price didn't update in the bigger popup window for some countries. • Fixed a bug that would still show the price of the palette even if you already owned it. • Fixed a bug that would make the Blaze Devil's first Heat Crash attack spawn flame pillars outside the room. • Fixed a bug that made it so only 1 lantern fly would spawn after revive when the Chamberstick was equipped. • Fixed a bug that caused Hector & Paige not to display the "new" dialogue box sprite when players got new lore from costumes. • Fixed a bug that wouldn't allow the player to open the XP info menu on the game complete & game complete cc screens. • Fixed a visual bug that would show some fields in the journal as 2 lines. • Fixed a visual bug that had the containers of elements/rarities/types the wrong colors. • Updated the Omega costume sprite sheets • Updated the Lemon-Lime palette sprite sheet • Updated the Orange Strawberry sprite sheet

While fourth-tenth place players will be granted a The Tako Boy Charm. • NOTE: Only 1 of each prize can be obtained weekly. UPDATES AND FEEDBACK • Language for treasures/charms more standardized. • Charms that are fully upgraded will now have a purple tag. • Charms & Flashlights obtained during a run (from a boss gift) now give ectoplasm rewards. These are both exclusively obtainable through the weekly challenge leaderboards. BALANCE CHANGES • Blaze Devil Added a 'tell' to his Scorching Scream attack that shows where the Blaze Devil will teleport too. • Necro Witch Reduced the length her Raining Skulls attack. • Pyro Jack Removed Vine Walls from all of his attacks. BUG FIXES • Buster Blade: Fixed a bug that would increase soul drop rate instead of soul heart drop rate. • Fixed a bug where skipping the ad would still revive Molli. • Fixed a bug that would cause the Living Statue to not use his "awaken" animation • Fixed a bug that would reapply your modifiers for some flashlights upon reentering an in progress game. DAMAGE / RESISTANCES CHANGES - There are no more multipliers like before, instead we've changed over to an addition/subtraction format. Example: +2 poison damage means you'll have 3x poison damage, as your character always starts with 1 + 2 = 3. - Damage multipliers for Molli can never go below 0.25x, this is because in the world of Candies n Curses it doesn't mathematically make sense for damage to be lower than 1/4th. - Damage can never go below 1. LEADERBOARDS Candies n Curses now has dedicated Leaderboards! Fight your way through hordes of ghosts and gobble those sugary sweets as quickly as you can because the Leaderboards for speed runners has arrived! There are 7 leaderboards in total: 6 for each individual stage, and a 7th for speed running all 6 rooms in one run. To be #1 you need to be the fastest in the world. Let's see who can beat Candies 'n Curses the quickest! SPEED RUN TOOLS In the Settings menu, you can now toggle the Clock Button to display or hide the in-game timer. Toggling to display the in-game timer is not required to record your time to the Leaderboards, but it's a useful tool to check how fast you're moving. DISCORD SERVER Love the game?
