  • Too complicated

    Cyclotron hero

Not plug and play for Fluke 3540 FC. If you want to be forced into account management, cloud teams, assets, WiFi pairing, Bluetooth pairing and app troubleshooting, this app is for you!! If you simply want data, find another tool. Whoever wrote this app is overpaid if they make more than minimum wage. Spent all day trying to get it to simply give me data and connect to the 3540. Should have went fishing and use the 3540 FC as an anchor. I would have gotten more value out of it that way than to simply log voltages and a simple way to look at the data.

  • An app so bad I'm thinking of returning 1587FC for Megger MIT520

    Diogenes' Cat

First, I agree 100% with "Nice Dad" but want to add the following: No competent person would disrupt all other phone functionality by using a WiFi interface when Bluetooth was available and a better option. WiFi in lieu of a more appropriate option is a hallmark of cheap cr@p built in China... oh, wait... Forcing users to create an account and share who knows what with Fluke just to access a tool's functionality is inexcusable. Not everyone is working in a large bureaucratic organization. For those of us who have no need for all the asset tracking, team communication and task management to be attached to their meter, these features are unwieldy clutter. There should be settings to turn off unwanted functionality (and allowing account free operation). And finally, the app is poorly implemented, not intuitive, and something I am going to try and live without. I came very close to selecting the Megger MIT420, and I am still within the return window. One factor that sold me on the Fluke was the connectivity app. Now that same app jas me thinking I will replace the 1587FC with MIT430 with Bluetooth. I have never been so unhappy with Fluke, and I own a lifetime's worth of Fluke gear.

  • I don’t want notifications!

    ENTEZEE

I usually don’t leave reviews but came here specifically to say stop with the relentless “Enable Notifications” pop-up. This pop-up message breaks the app and renders it useless because it keeps happening over and over every time try to look at the screen.Get a clue if I don’t do it the first ten times that I decline and close the popup message I’m not going to do it the next infinite times the popup blocks me from using the app without acknowledging/ closing it. I would rather delete the app, not use this feature, and leave a bad review than enable the notifications because of the harassing pop-up message but that this app so desperately wants me to comply with. Seriously why is it so forcefully trying to get me to enable notifications? What possible reason would it do this? It seems to be the highest priority of this app. Not functionality or usability it’s number one function is enable notifications enable notifications enable notifications enable notifications enable notifications enable notifications. Okay! We get it, don’t use this app unless you enable notifications.

  • Completely ridiculous

    Spidyh20

I bought the new 902 for the WiFi capability to make life a little easier. The hoops you have to jump through just to be able to access this information are ridiculous. Complete and utter disappointment. After this experience I think I will switch to a more user friendly manufacturer. I’ve used Fluke for the past 15 years, why do I need to register an account agreeing to submit who knows what data to you for who knows what use along with an plethora of features I will never need or use. I simply want to connect the info to my phone, and for some reason you made it a WiFi connect.... Bluetooth.. why is this not Bluetooth. User friendly... I would dare say 99% of your users are not a huge corporation looking to map and retain all this info.. I just want to be able to test a damned Minimate blowers amps with the door shut. K.I.S.S....Keep it simple stupid. User friendly.

  • Abysmal

    George Stolz

An app should be an accessory, not a lynchpin to get data from a piece of equipment. This crash-happy piece of garbage has unhelpfully failed to upload any of the datasets it didn't just delete on its own (3 or 4 are missing), so even if I want to fake a 30-day load study (since the meter can't store 30 days worth of data, so ideally with this setup I'd end up with several five day tests) I can't. The web software is equally useless. Here's a clue, Fluke: 99% of the utility of a load logger is to perform a code-required maximum demand load study. Finding that one data point should not be harder than locating Solomon's Mines. Completely and utterly never again wasting another dime on any Fluke equipment after this incredibly frustrating experience. Absolute garbage. I will gladly start over and give Dent $2500 for something that actually works.

  • Complicated to set up first time

    Ruben_albertoo

I download the app and after open it, I must create an acount, then I sign up, later I got mesaage I need a suscription to connect my phone to the device FLUKE 3540 FC , so nothing works. Later over PC, I activate one year licence. After activating the device, but then still not working my app, I could not connect or link the measurement with my account every time I got the message you need suscription! I delete the app reinstall it but the same message. After I try with other mobile same ios iphone x and works my account works !, means first step should be set up an account over PC and after that, download and use this App, in oposite way probably will not work like on my phone.

  • Poor software

    Pentalobe

Limited features and dubious quality...I work as chief EE for an electric bus maker, I bought a fluke 3000FC meter to replace my trusty 117, because of the supposed advanced capabilities within the app. The app doesn’t do much other than show what is already displayed on the meter, you do get a remote display but it is a clunky and poorly designed app. I was expecting advanced recording capabilities and whatnot at least on par with my Kiethley. You only get a 30 day trial of the app before a 250 dollar iap (per year!) is required to keep the functionality. It is unclear what features continue to work without the subscription fee so I returned the meter for a refund because it also had a 30 day window. I will stick with my older fluke dmm and Keithley bench meter which has usb (actually rs232, but it still works) connection to a PC.

  • Stuck on New Updates screen

    Just another Apple power user

Seriously broken unusable app. I have been infrequently using the Fluke Connect app to connect to a Fluke 376FC clamp meter. Launched the app recently and it now shows a New Updates screen with a See what’s new button that is enabled, and a partially cutoff Skip button that is disabled/grayed out and is not clickable. Clicking the only available option so see what’s opens a four page screen telling about the new features. This screen has no close button and no way to get to the main app. Basically the app is broken and has no way to get to the main screen to connect a meter. I have deleted and reinstalled the app several times. I am logged in. I expect better from Fluke. This needs an update asap.

  • I just want to collect data.

    8B7T

I’ve seen some amazing things done with iPhone apps. I’ve worked on and release a few of my own. For a multi $100’s million dollar company, they should have released a better app for their app enabled devices. This app is abysmal. I am using their 368 current probe. I just want to measure leakage current profile with some equipment. It’s so difficult to get anything out of the app. I just want to record some data. First, my biggest problem is really that the app crashes so often, it’s almost unusable. Within about 10 minutes of use, it crashes about 3 or 4 times, or more. I’m on latest ios, with iphone 14. This should not be a problem. Second, I just want to collect some raw data and save it. But the app seems to have these layers of useless asset tracking and work order management stuff that I just don’t need and it’s everywhere. Even if that’s the target audience, why add this on top for the rest of the users? Why not have it as an option? You can’t disable it, and even if you try to use it… the app crashes. Just let me collect raw data. Third. Why does it keep nagging me to allow notifications? I suspect this relates to all the asset and work order management stuff they’ve added into the app. I don’t want or need notifications. Stop nagging me so I can just collect some data. Finally, when the app isn’t crashing and you’re trying to look at data you collect, the UI lacks any reasonable level of sophistication. You can’t zoom in on graph data, and half the time the graph axis don’t show the range, and most of the time the range doesn’t seem to auto adjust.Even when you export the data, the formatting is not configurable. Readings that are sub-second resolution just show up with the same timestamp. About the only thing that this app is good for is to show the display of the unit that is sometime connected up in an enclosure and would be hard to read.

  • What the fluke

    Mumbles1justin

every time fluke updates this app they make it worse. Why do I have to create an account to access data that should be on my phone, not the cloud. I’ve been frustrated for years with this app. I started reverse engineering fluke connect protocols about a year ago. Now that the pandemic has given me a little free time, Im able to continue my node-red/ arduino implementation of fluke connect to free the limitations of this BS app and allow a ui that allows other brands and types of test equipment to be implemented using a singe FREE ui. Ive invested 10’s of thousands of dollars in fluke equipment over the years. Im not going to pay a hardware company a subscription for subpar software development when you can achieve at least the same or better open source software for free.
