Adventure To Fate: Dungeons
Ratings & Reviews
I just did a play through with the death night and when I went to fight the dazzling dragon, it removed the mind control ability and the zombie I summoned ended up attacking me. I honestly don’t think it should have removed my control as it seems to be a whole separate thing from confusion and confusion is usually what is removed in that battle.
This game is the most fun accessible game I’ve ever played. I like to play video games a lot when I could see, so the fact that I can play this one as I’m blind is amazing. Not to mention the price to buy it is great and affordable. I love this game, and I’m really thankful that I have access to it. PS, the variety and combinations of this game are stellar, if there was a 10 out of five stars option, I would pick it.
Amazing game I started playing core quest another great hit and always felt a personal connection with the developer who is insanely dedicated and personally assists anyone needing help in his discord community. They are very supportive of the blind/low vision gaming world and has created masterpieces anyone can enjoy
Best of the series. Every screen is a celebration. Soooo many ways to choose and build out your character. One thumb Rogue like in Portrait. The sheer amount of ways to build is insane. Gear, spells, stats, skills and companions who have their own builds. But despite vast amount of choice, the game itself is completely straight forward and not complicated at all.Few tech notes;Plays outside audioQuick saves like a dream Boots in Airplane modePlays comfortably with one thumb. Notes from the Dev;Some things that will help. As a melee attacker Agi is one of the most important stats. Hitting/dodging. For all classes wisdom is important too. It’s SP and resist. In early game getting your HP up is a good idea when choosing level up stats. Making use of defend / vanish is important too. Upgrading your belt and shield are high priority since you get more belt slots for potions and shield because they are rare equipment. On the boss floors 5 and 10 there is always a sign with a hint on how to conquer that floors boss. Search and kill everything on every floor even if you can progress. This allows you to level up and become stronger. Hopefully these tips help along with the adjustments version 1.6 brought. Thanks for supporting the game and let me know if you have other questions.
This is not an impossible game to play. It allows for grind and always progressing. There are no in-game purchases so all the more reason to buy this game than to want free-to-play that makes you buy things. No, this is a great game that doesn’t need extra purchases to leech your wallet while not being very fun. This game is fun, and would buy it on Steam if I could. I own the first game of this series, so I will definitely buy the next one. If the next game is F2P, I will not waste my time with it because that means it will be P2W with in-app purchases.
Having three inferno nights is not fair they can use fiery strike which drives over 100 damage guaranteeing my death please balance the game or at least the stats of the enemies because yeah I think they have the same stats as the enemies in lost island which have the same like enemies somewhat and they feel like they're the same stats and they're doing way too much damage please balance the volcano dungeon cause I've only made it past 45 once once or twice I think it was once yeah I've only made it past 45 once so yeah it's not supposed to say 45 it's supposed to say FLORR five
Developer ResponseThe prince of frost can be a bit tough for sure. I have added that to my list of balance adjustments! thanks for the heads up!
This game has improved upon just about everything I could think of from combat, to skills, to quality of life that this series has built up. All six classes are very unique, fun to experiment with, and fun to make it more challenging for them as well. Even with a good majority of the quest system completed, I still find a challenge in this game. The Mystic modes offer a ton of different varieties, and I can’t wait to see where it goes next. For some ideas, new classes for sure. Illusionist, Guardian was one I always liked, cleric was really fun in the last game. Maybe even some classes from future arena like alien would be fun in this game. New dungeons would also be great, and even after you run out of elements, you could still mix and match, like doing a dark murky ocean with shadow and water, or doing a burning forest with flame and earth. These could also have hazards, like how lost Island had the volcanic hazards. I think that could add a very interesting dynamic to the different dungeons, and keep the level design fresh. Hoping for a big game of the year update, Because this game definitely deserved it.
I’ve played for a couple days now, and I can tell there’s a lot of great content in the game. The developer seems to have been working on adding a lot of mechanics and items through the various iterations of the Adventure to Fate games, which is great to see! It’s also awesome that it’s accessible via Voiceover. My notes for the dev: some UI things could be tweaked for a better user experience. For example, having to click action, then the skill, then the enemy, and then switch back to clicking a button to examine a skill is pretty annoying. Most phone games these days let you long press something to get info. Also, the coloring for whether you have “action” or “look” selected is like… black vs dark grey. It’s quite difficult to tell what you’re about to do sometimes! Another example of an annoying user experience: my inventory doesn’t tell me what equipment slots are what. Instead of showing what’s a chest, leg, head, etc, it’s just a bunch of boxes! Please allow me to see what I’m missing!
Developer ResponseHey Michael, thanks so much for bringing these to my attention! ATF is a voiceover first game but I am always pushing to make it better for everyone! As for the long press, it should work if you give it a try. I have the extra action and look toggle for voiceover users since they don't have a long press. As for the equipment slots I agree (and even struggle myself sometimes to remember) I am working on some designs for the empty equipment slots for a future update. Thanks again for your support and help finding these issues.
One of the things I really like about this game is how much depth it offers right from the start. The three dungeons, Crypt of Fate, Lost Sands, and Frozen Spire, each feel unique, and having four different game modes makes the whole experience flexible depending on what kind of run I want.I also enjoy how much variety the game gives through the starting classes and all the unlockable races, spirits, skills, and even dungeons. Knowing that there are hundreds of quests and over 900 handcrafted skills makes the progression feel huge and gives me something new to look forward to every time. The loot-driven gameplay is another thing I appreciate. The monster and item prefixes, the custom forge system, and the shrine events keep every run unpredictable in a good way. The Monster Bestiary is something I personally like because it helps track enemies, their skills, and loot drops, which makes planning feel more strategic.I also really enjoy the polish in the presentation. The new skill animations, vibrations, and updated action log make everything feel clearer and more immersive. The custom soundtrack adds to the atmosphere, and the portrait-focused engine makes it feel smooth on iOS.Another thing I genuinely appreciate is the full VoiceOver support and accessibility focus. It’s great seeing an RPG that’s built from the ground up for blind and visually impaired players while still being fun for everyone.I like that you don’t need an internet connection, and the Game Center leaderboards and achievements give extra goals to work toward. Overall, what I enjoy most is how much content, accessibility, and replayability the game fits into a turn-based roguelike package.
Developer ResponseReally glad you love all the detail I put into it and took the time to share it all. Don't worry, there is more to come, this is just the start! More Classes, Dungeons, and a lot more are in the works! Thanks for supporting my dream and accessible gaming!
I don’t usually write reviews on games, though I will for this dev because they’re fabulous, and their games have always been some of the best roguelikes I’ve ever played. One quick note though, for VO users. If you want to access info on enemies you’re fighting but don’t want to hit the look button first, VO does have a long-press option. Simply double-tap the enemy’s name and don’t raise your finger. That counts as a long press and will give you info. Then swipe till you hear the “Done” button labeled. But I’ve seriously enjoyed playing every adventure to fate game since almost the beginning.
