Mancala.

I learned how to play this game with a friend tonight. I loved it so much, I HAD to get it in an app. However, I didn’t want one that was going to bombard me with adds or add unnecessary sound effects or flashing lights to try to get your brain hooked. I just wanted a simple app to enjoy this ancient game and that’s exactly what I got. Thank you! Later I will probably buy the full version to gain access to harder levels.
A nice calm game to play whilst passing time. I’m not a huge game player but the colours, minimal sounds and ease of this game is really quite pleasant. I don’t know if these are the actual rules of Mancala but I feel like I’m a pro now. I hope they are the rules so I can play in person next time I see a board! 😍
Are you never gonna stop playing? This game because I am not getting bored because I keep winning and I am not getting bored because I am a pro at Color and I love Mancala and my dad. He was a pro at Mancala and my uncle and my cousins and mom and my auntie and my other family and then everything else just went wrong and then I’ve been the pro because they made a side of they made a vote and if I was ever a pro, would I be even honest game yes if I was not a pro I won’t be on this game but now I’m a pro because I am a no and I’m not seven no more. I started 11. I started learning when I was just seven years old now, mate. Now I’m eight years old.
I love Mancala and I am glad that I can play it easily on an app like this. However, there are a few things that I wish were changed or updated.First, the single player modes are too limited. The AI has a very predictable pattern, and there is only one level open to users who didn’t pay. If at least a few more levels become available, users may not only be more attracted to the game, but also be convinced that spending money on this game could be worth it. Right now, I am not interested in spending money on this app because I’m not sure if the payed-version-AI will be significantly different. Second, there is no other method to gain diamonds other than spending real money. In most games, there are other methods to gain game money other than spending actual money, such as watching ads, completing tasks, etc., which are some things I was expecting to see. I am not good at Mancala so sometimes I just need to spend diamonds to get hints when solving puzzles, but after I spent them on 2-3 hints I was stuck at a certain level because I ran out. I’m new to this app so I don’t want to spend money on it already. I think that it is important for a game to keep the users engaged until they start to really get into it and consider spending money on it.These are personal opinions so idk if a lot of people will agree on them, but I thought that it may be helpful if I write an honest review from a newbie’s pov. The game itself is well organized the gameplay is enjoyable!
I had never played this game before and I had this game as a kid but it was a wooden box that you open up and played right there on the board. It came with marbles and it did not have directions well we did not have internet when I was a kid so I never learned to play it. I have been playing it to the point I think I am addicted lol! Maybe not addicted but I am really enjoying it. I think that the directions could have been a little more detailed maybe a step by step and maybe have a tutorial that shows how to play in just a easier way to play the game. The reason I say that is that I suffered a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and it takes a bit more of detailed instructions to for me to learn how to play certain games. It took me playing for about an hour to finally understand the game. I would definitely recommend it to others and it is a good game for brain training in my opinion !!! -Krysten
Fun to play but I feel it is unfair sometimes and the game cheats! This is not good leadership skill for children to see when they play this game at least make the age higher up like 18 and older! But I think you must teach kids at young age that life is unfair, and mancala is addicting I am actually addicted I remember playing it in the hospital with my sister but they lost all the marble pieces literally!! And we had to find random pieces to replace them with they kept falling out and stuff they were too big! and I do not think it was as fun but I make do. This game still had marbles pieces and I didn’t not have to replace them with stupid small plastic animals like giraffes and elephant and monkey so I give it a three stars review ok hope feelins are not hurt that is not my intention what so ever. This app is still better than others on the App Store like that mancala and friends so big props to that .
I have always been fond of mandala and this was one of the first apps I downloaded on my new ipad air. The graphics were excellent having seemed to be optimized for the retina display and the big screen of this device. I took off one star from the five star rating because after sufficient practice the game starts to be predictablee (wrt the moves of the computer) and it becomes easy to defeat the computer. Perhaps this app would be much better if there were more in-game options for the player like online multiplayer adjusting the no of stones to start from in the beginning of the game and most important, the setting of a difficulty level. Maybe a timer to execute your move could be useful... Four stars for the game itself and the animations and sound effects are superb!
I love love love this game and it all started when I was wondering how to play. I found this app, downloaded it, and immediately started playing it. This is still day one, but I’ve only got ONE concern: There are a LOT of in-app purchases. Overall, this might be my new favorite board game. Also, I think this game started off with Egyptians and precious stones. I’m amazed at how this has evolved. WOW. Thanks to everyone who helped make this super-awesome game! This is, like, necessary on any device. I also love that this purchase that is for the 2-players and a bunch of other things, it’s only $5.00, which is not that much, because it unlocks so much!! Thank you all again for making this game so wonderful.
I thank Byterum for making this wonderful game. I love this board game in real life and this game was just like it. I am a champion at Mancala and this app makes me feel more like one. This game does not cheat like some and is very awesome. I would give this 5/5 stars because this Mancala app does not only avoid cheating, it makes me feel like a child again. I feel warm and love looking back at my childhood and remember the wonderful times. This Mancala app makes me feel more at home. I think kids would like this app very much. It is fun and makes you very happy. I am sorry for my review to be so short but I am very thankful for such a wonderful app and I hope you see how grateful I am. Thank you.
I love moving M&M shaped marbles through a wood board with half drilled holes while trying to score a touchdown. It’s like call of duty meets football if Hulk Hogan was a professional bowling champion if the lanes were made of Ice for free skating in the dark. The best part about Mancala is that it brings back old memories of going to grandmas and getting yelled at for being hyper while throwing the marbles around the room. We definitely had fun those summers going to the lake and Mancala was always there. I definitely see myself playing with this instead of my organ. I have made a professional chance at Mancala only to be off a few marbles but this will help me train for the future.
