I like being able to set a timer for it to come on at certain times and you can set as many as you want. Sometimes, between seasons, I like to take some moisture out of the air while sleeping. I’ll set a few timers to turn on “Dry” and another to turn off after about 10 minutes. Minor flaw: (Very minor) App says “Sunny” even at midnight rather than “Clear” but that’s no biggie. Also, if you unplug and remove your ac unit in winter, make sure you turn off the timers or you will get error messages all winter and the way to turn the timers off is when the unit is plugged in and connected to WiFi. Although there may be a way to turn off timers that I’m not aware of.

I was ready to admit defeat with the app as I followed the instructions from the manual but it didn’t work. I found a video online where you had to be in front of the unit to press the display button 6 times. Here is the most important thing, press the mode button after pressing display 6 times. Once I did that it set up straight away.I think my wife will love this app as our air conditioner is up high and my wife can’t reach the buttons. Thankfully we have a remote but having the app on our phones or iPads will be so much better.

If you want to spend hours cursing and stressing then download this app and follow the manufacturers instructions. If you’d like to save yourself the agony then remember the most important thing, and the only way you will get it to work with Wi-Fi. After you press the display button six times ,press the mode button just once.It will take a few seconds but it will make a few beeps and start going into the search mode for your Wi-Fi. That is when you press next on your device where you have the app installed . With any luck it will be connected in about 10 seconds! The included remote control is horrible, often not working at all.The wifi is a necessity for me, otherwise it’s stand on a bed each time I need to make adjustments or to power it on or off. Shame on Friedrich!

The app used to be working properly without very small time delay until recently. Now, the app would either have great time delay for every setting change made on the phone or iPad, or simply won’t set the change and ignore the setting changes. For example, to change the fan speed, i have to try to set it 3-4 times and wait about 10-15 second every time for it to work. It’s weird and the app used to not function this way, must be some changes or updates. Very frustrating when you need 3-4 attempts to just lower temperature.

Why can’t Friedrich get apps right? I have an LG inverter AC with and app that works flawlessly. Why can’t Friedrich who has been making air conditioners for 60 years make and app that works flawlessly. My biggest problem is not the setup which is totally wrong in the manual. It’s the problem with the app. You can’t lower the temperature only raise it with ECO enabled. You have to disable ECO with the app then you can lower temperature. Then re- enable ECO with the remote not the app because if you enable with the app it locks the temperature at 79 degrees. The ECO button in the app should do one thing turn on/off money saver. Please fix this annoyance so I can give a five star review.

I had to set this up twice and both times it took numerous tries. Even the company who installed the AC said to expect to take multiple tries and it did. The second time I had to set it up (because my whole WiFi setup was changed) it took me several days before it finally connected. An example of the weirdness was there is a point where on the phone it says to tap a circle when you see the two letters appear on the AC screen (CF or something like that). The craziness is that you can’t see the circle on the phone to tap it unless the lighting is just right and even then it’s barely seeable!

Had no trouble setting it up with iPhone 12 Pro Max (Though it is not intuitive, non tech-savvy people may have issues)Chill Premier unit responds quickly.But WHY must I use the remote to turn off the rather bright display? That capability should be incorporated into this app. Also, Friedrich needs to bring back the website which allowed you to control your unit directly from your Mac or PC, or design a compatible app for desktops and laptops.

This review is for the IPhone app. After an hour trying I get device not connected over and over again. I get to the page after it says it found the device and the app shows a circle and a progress graphic. After a couple of minutes I get the failed to connect and try again. The ac unit has the blue WiFi indicator light on. Finally gave up. Will try another day. I sent them a request for help with the iPhone app and asked what they are doing to fix the firmware in the app support page today 8/1/19. Will pass on any answer they provide. .

I was pulling my hair out trying to get the WiFi connected. I followed the instructions to a tee and nothing worked. Finally, I decided I’d try using an older iPhone (iPhone 8). It worked on the first try!It seems that this app is not compatible with iPhone 11 Pro. It was last updated a year ago at the time of this review, and iPhone 11 hadn’t been released yet, so I assume there are some differences that causes this issue. Leaving this here so that others in my predicament can find a solution. One hint that it’s not working: when the app asks you for your WiFi name and password, if your SSID doesn’t appear in the app, then it’s not going to work. I immediately saw the difference when I used an iPhone 8. And it’s not iOS versions either, I was on the latest versions in both cases.

I was so excited about the idea of a wifi A/C unit that I bought 2 Friedrich units at the recommendation of my salesperson over a month ago and have yet to be able to get the app to pair with both devices on my iPhone XS Max running on the latest software. Basically I could have spent less money on regular A/C units. Friedrich support was not helpful at all and made me go through all the steps I already went through in the accompanying manual. At this point just dealing with no wifi capability on wifi A/C units or praying to the A/C gods seem like my only options since I don’t exactly want to uninstall two heavy units to return them to the store.
