5 Quick Tips for Pokémon Unite

Strategic team battles

Pikachu is adorable – but on Pokémon Unite’s frenzied battlefields, he’s no pushover. In this captivating multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), knock out foes and score goals with your favourite famous critters. Need some help evolving? Whether you’re a Charizard champion or a sucker for Snorlax, these tips are worth catching.

If you like attacking wild Pokémon, try a good Jungler like Cinderace.

Go wild

Defeating wild Pokémon gives you Aeos Energy (used to score points) – but in some cases, you’ll receive unique buffs too. Take down the bison-like Bouffalant for a perk that slows enemies or knock out a Ludicolo to increase your attack damage.

Score small

The more Aeos Energy you’re carrying, the more time it takes slamming it into an enemy goal. To avoid having your shot interrupted by an enemy attack, go for quicker goals with smaller amounts of energy.

Gear up

When equipping items, play to your chosen Pokémon’s strengths! For example, defenders like Blastoise should look for the Buddy Barrier, which shields you and a nearby ally when you use your Unite move.

Zone out

Need a quick boost? A friendly Goal Zone shields you from damage and lets you heal up. The same holds true for your opponent, though. If you see enemies congregating near a Goal Zone, back off and wait for backup.

Bolster your health whenever you have a chance.

Jump, jump!

The Super Jump Pad gets unlocked back at your base at the five-minute mark. Use it to quickly reenter the fray if you’re knocked out.
