Roguelike meets text-based adventure meets resource management sim in this fascinating game, but there's so much more to this game than the sum of its influences.Starting off as a lone wanderer in a dark room, you soon make your way to becoming a ruler of a small community and an avid explorer eager to solve the mystery of a planet you find yourself on. The visuals are crisp and minimalistic, which perfectly fits the alternately calm and impatiently button-mashing gameplay. The true strength of this game, however, lies in its deep reflexivity about the player's role - here we have an opportunity to think about the forces that drive us towards our goal and what our actions and orders mean for other beings, represented by mere words and numbers on the screen, much like inanimate inventory objects. I found the gameplay and the story to be captivating and at times emotionally gripping, with a deep underlying conflict. You also get to hear developer commentary after completion, which offers additional insight into the game, as well as offers you an optional game-altering challenge for your next replays. As to what's bad with this game - at the later stages it lagged quite a lot on my iPhone 5, which detracts from both the turn-based and the real-time aspects of the game, so I don't feel justified in giving it 5 stars based on my experience. Despite its lagginess, however, this is a captivating gem of a game and a beautiful example of the true art of intelligent storytelling in games. I highly recommend it.
