We've made dozens of support articles available to ChatGPT and Claude so that they can help you with the most common issues. Of course, if they can't help, we're always here. You can start a chat from the app's Help section.

This version fixes some minor bugs.

This version adds a little badge that pops up when you finish writing, showing you how many words you added to your project in the last writing session. We hope it helps you see your progress and motivates you to write even more. You can now also search your Werdsmith projects using Siri. Ask Siri about topics, character names, or anything else you write about. For example, you can ask Siri "find my notes about New York in Werdsmith" or "search for Alexis in Werdsmith".

You can now easily copy projects that you started in another app into Werdsmith. When you start a new project, you'll see an Import button that lets you copy a project that's in iCloud, Google Drive or Dropbox. You can then continue the project in Werdsmith. You can also add Google Docs or Microsoft Word files directly from the other app. This feature supports plain text, Markdown, Rich Text Files (.rtf), Word Documents (.docx), Google Docs and PDFs with selectable text in them.

This version lets you increase the security of your account with a passkey, the modern replacement for passwords. Unlike passwords, passkeys can't be leaked or guessed. If you change email addresses, having a passkey means you'll still be able to access your account.

We've completely rebuilt search to make it fast and reliable. You can now search for any word in your projects and jump straight to the result. We'd love to hear your feedback on this feature, so feel free to message us from Help > Features.

When you start a blank project, Ghostwriter now bases its prompts on the kinds of things you usually write. For example, if you write a lot of romance stories, its suggestion is more likely to match this theme. Try it next time you have Blank Page Paralysis! As always, your writing stays private and is never used to train AI models.

We’ve rebuilt Werdsmith from the ground up to help you beat writer’s block and get motivated to write. Here’s a highlight of the new features in version 6: DAILY TARGET Build your writing habit with a Daily Target. On the Profile screen, choose the number of words you’d like to write per day, and we’ll show you your progress in the app, from the Writing Stats widget or from the new Daily Target widget. It’s a great way to strengthen your writing practice. PROJECT WIDGETS Get motivated to finish your projects by adding a Project Widget to your home screen. For each project, you can track its word count, the number of words you’ve written or the progress towards your writing goal - without even opening the app. AUTOMATIC CHAPTER NUMBERS Ghostwriter can now keep all your chapter numbers up to date in Novel Mode. Just type "Chapter" (without a number) and all the chapter numbers will be added when you finish editing. Move or add chapters and all the numbers will update automatically. One less distraction to worry about. FASTER PROMPTS If you’ve got writer’s block, you can now get a writing prompt right in your text while you type, without breaking your flow. If you’re happy with a prompt, just keep typing.
