At RNI we always wanted to transfer the true character of analogue film to digital medium. So we did by digitising our library of analog slides and negatives, building their profiles and packaging those profiles into a lightweight and easy to use mobile app.
RNI Films is a great mobile companion for those who appreciate the beauty of analogue photography. And this little app enables creators to bring the artistic flair of film into their mobile workflow.

REAL FILM FILTERS
The RNI Films' filters are born from real film stocks and split into categories that include negative, slide, instant, black & white and vintage. The app comes with a generous introductory package of free film filters. Also additional filter packages can be added via in-app purchase.
REAL FILM GRAIN
Authentic film grain powered by our custom engine—accurately simulating grain structure, colour, and resolution behaviour.
REAL FILM BLOOM & HALATION
Recreate the optical effects of real film. Bloom adds a soft glow to highlights, while halation produces a warm, subtle halo around bright areas. Both are modelled to behave naturally, just like in real film photography.
ADJUSTMENT TOOLS
Use RNI image adjustment tools to make sure your images perfectly meet your creative vision. You can crop and rotate, alter the brightness, contrast, and colour, enhance shadows and highlights, add vignette and real film grain, and much more.
RAW EDITOR
RNI Films can open and edit RAW files from your mobile or third-party camera*. Some minor image artefacts may be seen while editing RAW in the app's viewport which uses draft mode. Those artefacts won't be there on export. Generally, the quality of the output of this little app is comparable with professional desktop software.
* Your third-party camera RAW format needs to be supported by iOS. Please refer to your iOS version documentation for more details.
VIDEO GRADING (beta)
RNI Films can colour-grade your videos. All its film filters and many editing tools now support video. More video-focused tools and features will be added later. At the moment video grading is in beta. So if you spot any bugs or issues—please let us know at support@reallyniceimages.com
SHARING

Reasonable price and great quality filters and adjustments. no gimmicks. clearly made for photographers without being overly complicated. exactly how mobile photography is meant to be. simple without being simplistic.
Really like the app but some things are missing

I purchased a few of the packs and I do like the app but there are some fundamental tools missing:1. Please allow the user the crop and straighten the image once they have started processing the shot. It is frustrating to have to save the photo only to open it up in another app just to crop it.2. Give us the option to zoom while editing. Adding grain or sharpening is a shot in the dark if we can’t actually see the effect of what we are doing until we export the image.3. Let us save some template or the processed image in app so that we can return to it later to make adjustments rather than try and remember how we processed it last time.4. It should be possible to add specific films to your “favourites” and then only scroll through those when picking a film. It really gets in the way when you have to scroll through dozens of films to find the one you always use and try and compare it with another film buried elsewhere in the app.This is a great app that is let down by some significant oversights. I see that others have left reviews asking for some of these changes as well; please listen to your user base.

I bought two packets of RNI film effects back in 2019. As I am just getting back into photos, I started using the app again since Feb 2021 and notices only the purchases I have made have disappeared. I did try to ‘Restore Purchases’ but was unable to as I needed to subscribe. I would like a refund as from my understanding, buying the two packs meant I could use it freely, subscribed or not. What’s the point of offering your customers to purchase packs when you would have to spend more on top of what you’ve just paid to use what you have brought. It’s really sad to be ripped off as I really enjoyed using the RNI app.Please let me know when my refund will be applied, I did try to go through the app but wasn’t able to as it doesn’t give the option for any support as all, which is really another unnecessary hassle for the customer.

Hi Lavinia, sorry to hear about the issue. To restore all your previous RNI Films purchases please do the following: 1. Make sure you are logged in to the App Store and iCloud under the same account that you used for your original purchases. 2. Launch RNI Films3. Tap on the menu icon in the top-right corner of the app and select "Restore my purchases". If you see the "restore was successful" message - that means the app has successfully connected to your App Store account and received all the in-app purchase data. So if you can't see some of your previous purchases unlocked, that can only mean that they were either not purchased or purchased under a different App Store account. Hope this helps
Great app but a few things missing

Love it for the filters and being a long time film photographer they are pretty darn good!A few extra editing facilities would be great.- ability to zoom in to see what grain etc is looking like when viewed on a larger screen- curves - ability to crop, straighten and rotate once have applied filters- ability to flip horizontal, vertical and rotate at 90 degree increments- I loved a filter I used the very first time used this and then promptly forgot which it was so thought I would reload the image that had the filter applied to it but the app didn’t have that info. Thanks for the app and all the hard work! Most appreciated and hope the feedback is useful.ThanksVirginia
