LinkedIn members have the option to verify their identity by securely uploading a government ID and/or taking a live selfie using certain trusted partners. When I joined LinkedIn as a professional chemical engineer about a couple of decades ago or thereabouts, it was mainly used as a business and professional networking platform. But these days it has morphed into a social media site where very smart professional people can express their take in what they see as pressing social and geopolitical problems and issues. Thus, now in the age of expressive individualism and self-ID, it has become like a Facebook but only for super-smart people. Definitely not a platform for an uneducated moron or a child. Facebook can cater for that demographic.

What a great community connection this is …. I have heard about it for years but never thought the professional connects would be something I needed. Don’t get me wrong I will catch up anytime for a coffee anywhere but LinkedIn allows me to connect with people virtually and in a professional community of my choosing. Great resource to have in my back pocket. Thanks Team LinkedIn.
Customer Service inability to understand and acted like robots

I reached out for work verification and school verification. With all those lengthy indirect responses that they thought it was "professional" and seemed to be providing the "full" details, they ignored what I was saying that was not the point I asked for and repeated each other like a robot. Until I begged please don't make me explain one more time about why the answer is still not what I'm asking for and provided the already known info, the last response said 'the verification methods availability depends on region'. I and my friends are in the same region, they can do it, I can't, but I don't bother to pursue further. I'll just talk to a bunch of robots repeating each other and poor understanding ability. I'd rather talk to their manager or Chat GPT. This is the worst customer service I've had.

Can you please send us an email with your details here: https://lnkd.in/dwtkgP7R. Thanks!-SSB
Frustrating when opening

The functioning of the app is fine once you get in but it is super frustrating having to click through a dozen pages of people to connect with on various platforms every time you open the app. I don’t want to do that every time! I would rather have a big “find connections” or “find links” or “link me in” button that will take me through these steps when I want to, or one page that asks if I want to go through possible connections that goes through the pages of I say yes and skips them ALL and logs me straight in if I say no. It really deters me from using the app more regularly.
