I believe this is the best free notes app on iPad right now. I use my iPad to do homework instead of using paper (cuz I have to scan them and upload anyway). I like how it’s page structured instead of infinite scrolling like the One Note or apple notes, because when I try to export those into A4 size pdf some of the content get spliced into different pages as there isn’t any obvious page breaks when writing in those apps. For this app, it’s literally like a digital paper with notes structured in pages instead of a huge canvas, and tons of paper templates to choose from. Sure, it might not be as powerful as notability or goodnotes, but this is completely free! (Shame on you notability with your subscription model…)Some cons: the ui design is not my favourite, I prefer a more serious look or more consistent iOS ui style. But this doesn’t affect the usability in any way so I can look pass it,Another thing is the ui layout might be a bit confusing, some of the buttons and menus are in different/unintuitive places. For example, the some of the settings like dark mode are only accessible in the notes settings instead of the main app settings. At the core, this app I really good, but it might need a bit more polish in the ui/ux design.

As a student I have to say that this is the best free note taking app that I have used! It has most features that other paid note taking apps have and it provides us with a variety of templates to choose from and it allows us to organize our notes which is something that I found really useful about this app. This app also has a special feature that other note taking apps do not have and that is the ability to automatically switch the notes from light to dark mode,without having to change the pen colours used in light mode(meaning notes with a light background to a dark background color) to fit the darker background,all with just a click of a button feature that they have. So I would definitely recommend this amazing app to everyone and I would like to thank the developers for creating this app for free as it helps many students around the world to take notes digitally easier:)

I have been using this app for almost a year on my ipad and this is such an excellent app. The features are easy to navigate and it is extremely easy to organize my notes. Apart from that, I can export and share my notes to my friends or to other application. This is also especially useful if you are a student who needs to write lots of study notes as you can highlight the words, organize them easily and you can also decorate your notes. Afterwards, you can even share the notes with your friends. I would highly recommend this app to everyone especially to those using an ipad to write notes. The best part of this app is that it is absolutely free!

Overall I’m really satisfied with the app because even though it’s free but it has unlimited notes to take and also comes with a lot of useful features. Hence, I upgraded to the premium version but then I found out there’s lots of bugs, eg: 1) the ASMR sound of note taking doesn’t work often. 2) the notes and sketches I take on the pdf will somehow appear in the next pages and I can’t remove it with eraser. These two bugs had affected the experience of note taking a lot since I bought the premium version to especially have the ASMR sound of writing. I hope CollaNote can fix the bugs as soon as possible.🙏🏻 In a nutshell, everything is fine and works well with all the simple and a varieties of features that make my note taking fast and efficient.

Appreciate the new version! I’m a collage student who has used collanote for a long period of time already ,im happy about the change and i am also a user of apples second generation pen ,so the function of the pen is when i double tapped the pen it immediately changes to eraser. Having that explained, the old version has that function as well. However the new version seems to have a better change. But, me as a student it would be more convenient by just double clicking and changing it to erasers. To improve this , i have a suggestions which is have a settings for users to choose which function(new or old) to use by which they prefer . So , this does not need to removed the new function as well as fulling our users needs.

Hi I’ve been using this app for almost a yr now and it’s honestly a great app with amazing features! And most importantly it’s free so it’s perfect for students! Btw, did the type get updated recently? Cause now we can set the fonts size and style according to what we like which is great but honestly I like the old way where we can adjust the size of the fonts using the arrow instead of manually sizing it since it’s pretty difficult for me. Maybe the new way can be kept but the old one could be brought back too? Just a suggestions though I’m not sure if anyone else feels the same way as I do. Thanks for the great app!

I really love this app has all the features I needed and is very powerful. I have tested other apps that is commonly used by everyone but this one is what I preferred. I have no regrets in buying the premium feature, the best? It’s a one time life payment!However, just recently, I’m facing some issues. All my notes just keep on refreshing and repeating to load when I try to open it from my folders. I dont know if its my storage issue, or the app issue, or my ipad being slow. But the app also crashes when it repeats on loading the notes. So sadly, right now I have to look for a temporary alternative :(. But I really do love this app so much. I hope they still support ipad 7th gen.

I’ve been using the free version for over a year now and it’s been the best note taking app I’ve ever used. The free version has everything I need but today I decided to finally go for the paid version as a sign of support and also to change all the wallpaper and ui colors XD. Thank you for making this app accessible to all those who can’t afford to pay extra for note taking. Overall interface is easy to understand with many choice of colours and tools to choose from even on the free version. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more interesting updates.
