I've used Moovit for bus routes. Many times the stops and maps are available so you can navigate easily. When I tried to go to Forum mall area, this app gave the correct bus route and connecting routes accurately with the number of stops. As well the maps are helping to walk using the Google maps. This caters to many transfers or connections. It can improve on real time to notify red traffic congestion routes to make it more sensible to users. This app also gives prices for the bus routes. It can mention the day pass for users. I wish the govt. makes a common new day pass where it can be used both on non ac and Ac buses plus metro station so that it helps to navigate with this app more often and easy access to places.

I used this today for my first visit in Chennai. Language was problem with locals and this app made all my travel worry free. I just put for source and destination and app automatically suggested all bus on that route with correct bus numbers. Lots of other transport options are there if you select. Must have this app and wish developers keep adding more cities.Thank you team. Google map is there but I found this much better and easy to use. The accuracy level was pretty good.

Used to be amazing, now it's horrible with EXTREMELY intrusive ads

Till a few years ago Moovit was the gold standard for public transit directions. The time estimates for buses and trains were perfect to the minute. Now, however, it's super unreliable, with some lines not having estimated times at all.Unreliable time estimates are still acceptable to a limit. The most frustrating change is the addition of EXTREMELY intrusive ads. If I'm rushing to catch a train, and need to buy a ticket through Moovit, the last thing I want to face is a minute-long unskippable ad for Candy Crush. Moovit, please stick to doing your job as a respectable transit app, and don't become yet another ad-infested app. There are many ways to have ads in your app which serve the purpose, but don’t inconvenience the user to this level.

The app is very useful for routes. However, most of its backend (data side) is collected and filled by volunteers. Some features that could be improved: marking a section of the line or a bus stop as non-operational (maybe because of construction or repair work), live tracking of buses on more cities, and route numbers in local languages.
