Charging people for World Cup despite them having a subscription in advance was pretty outrageous but I thought if I coughed money up for the World Cup pack it’d at least mean I’d get a good experience watching the games. They constantly bombard you with ads on top of that just as a middle finger to your money cause they can make more off of you. I would understand for live matches some ads to fill the gaps in the match where nothing happens like the Half Time breaks. They literally cut for ads randomly in the middle of post match highlights. Compared to other services who offered the whole World Cup for free to stream and made money off of the ads but at least it was free or if they made you pay they would offer you the whole uninterrupted high quality stream with no breaks even during when nothing is happening on the pitch. This app is so bad and really struggles compared to the other streaming service. The servers are bad and can only steam video at 144p sometimes and I’m not even talking about live streaming, this is for streaming even the highlights. The player constantly buffers and lags behind on live streams constantly. If I’m getting the same experience as piracy websites why should I spend my hard earned money on it and get treated the same. Worst experience of my life. Hope they never win a sport streaming exclusivity bid ever again 🙏.
Worst in website I been using other platforms like prime hotstar sun next I like few South Indian content that’s why I bought it but it’s very frustrating new shows are buffering and it’s getting paused and black screen comes then again it starts fromThe first these things also I again see that most of the movies also facing the same issue I feel very bad and feel like I been fooled because of low quality resolution and 5 -6 time sits buffering while watching a single movie I purchased it because I want a add free smooth experience also I paid more than 2000 it’s feels like looting I understand your business model, and due to which u are charging like this it’s okay but it’s very poor in website every time it’s buffering there is at of audience who wants to experience in big screen like I use a chrome browser on MacBook Pro M1 in that I am watching it’s really difficult to use the website pls do fix it quickly. I know how business works and tech works and product works and backend, data and all the other aspects pls I feelLike a fooled user

I am utterly disappointed and frustrated with Zee 5's service. Despite having an active subscription valid until August 2024, I am repeatedly prompted to repurchase my subscription. This is unacceptable and feels like a scam. I have invested my hard-earned money only to be denied the service I paid for. All I can access are trailers, which is outrageous considering my subscription status. The lack of proper customer service and the failure to address such a fundamental issue is a clear indication of negligence and disregard for customer satisfaction. It's a shame to see a service I once trusted fail so miserably in maintaining its basic functionality and customer support.Unless this issue is resolved immediately and satisfactory compensation is provided, I am left with no choice but to rate Zee 5 with a single star. This experience has been nothing short of a scam, and I caution potential customers to reconsider subscribing to a service that fails to deliver what it promises and takes no responsibility for its shortcomings.

ZEE5 shamelessly advertised FIFA streaming in 4K to attract subscribers, but what viewers actually got was a blurry, low-quality stream that looked closer to 720p than 4K. This is nothing short of false advertising.Millions of football fans paid for a premium experience based on the promises made by ZEE5, only to be completely disappointed. During one of the biggest sporting events in the world, the platform failed to deliver even the basic quality it marketed so aggressively. If you cannot provide 4K streaming, then don’t advertise it. Stop deceiving customers into paying for something they never receive. The difference between true 4K and what was streamed was obvious to anyone with a decent TV or internet connection. This has completely destroyed my confidence in ZEE5. Instead of focusing on flashy marketing campaigns, the company should focus on delivering what customers are actually paying for. FIFA fans deserved better. What we got was a broken promise and a substandard viewing experience. One of the most disappointing streaming experiences I’ve ever had.
If I could give this app minus a million stars, I gladly would. Unfortunately, the lowest rating is 1/5, so here we are. This app only has any value because it secured the rights to stream the World Cup. But let me tell you the kind of hell you have to go through after paying for an overpriced subscription just to watch an event that comes around once every four years.I’ve been a football fan since the 1998 World Cup. Even back then, when cable TV was scarce and Doordarshan only broadcast the semifinals and final, the viewing experience was somehow better than this.First, the subscription plans. They started by allowing three devices, then reduced it to one, then back to three, and then back to one again. That alone tells you everything you need to know about their greed.Second, the app constantly logs you out. Leave it idle for an hour? Logged out. Log in again. If you’re sharing a subscription, it’s an absolute nightmare. And now the latest issue: on the iOS app, live matches only play about 10 seconds of audio before going completely silent. That’s it—no commentary, no crowd noise, nothing. Want to watch on your phone? Too bad. Your only option is to switch to a laptop because they can’t be bothered to fix a basic issue. They clearly can’t handle the traffic, and worse, they don’t seem to care that paying customers are left with a broken product.
I paid for the FIFA package, yet I’m still being shown advertisements. I’m paying a premium for sports content that’s more expensive than most OTT platforms, I shouldn’t have to watch commercials. Four ads in just 10 minutes of highlights is unacceptable. The app still doesn’t provide Picture-in-Picture support for this packageWhat’s even more disappointing is that I already have an active subscription, yet I was forced to purchase a separate FIFA package. I haven’t seen any other OTT platform follow this approach. It feels like you’re charging football fans extra simply because you canThe tournament lasts only about a month, but you’re forcing users to buy a 3-month package with no shorter option. I didn’t want a 3-month subscription, but I had no choice if I wanted to watch the tournamentIf this is the experience you’re going to offer for the subscribers, then don’t bid for sports streaming rights. I’m paying to watch the game, not to sit through ads.
I am giving ZEE5 a very poor rating for their FIFA World Cup coverage due to repeated, unacceptable streaming problems.- Frequent app crashes: The app would crash repeatedly, especially during halftime and at critical moments like the semi-finals and final. Each crash forced me to fully close and reopen the app, causing me to miss several minutes of live action.- Persistent loading/UI issues: A loading button frequently overlaid the video, blocking the view. This got worse over the course of matches and across multiple games.- Severe video quality problems: High-arcing balls and aerial play caused noticeable flickering and pixelation. The HD quality was inconsistent and poor at times when clarity mattered most.- Audio/clip sync and playback glitches: The app sometimes treated goals or fouls as abrupt playback failures, interrupting the experience and causing confusion.- Unreliable playback recovery: After a crash, the app often failed to reload the live stream immediately. Reconnecting took time and often resulted in missing key moments. These recurring technical failures show that ZEE5 lacked the infrastructure and testing required to reliably broadcast an event of this scale. For an audience as large and passionate as India’s football fanbase, this performance is unacceptable. I urge ZEE5 to either fix these systemic issues before bidding for future live sports rights or refrain from taking on broadcasting rights they cannot support.
The only thing worse than this app is the web browser version. They successfully ruined the World Cup which is actually free and easy to watch in other countries. How did they do that?1. Forced people to subscribe for 3 months or a year, when the WC runs for only about 5 weeks. 2. Once subscribed, the app and browser doesn’t recognise your account has paid the money. 3. I had to log-in 3-4x every session for some reason. 4. The first time I was not able to rewind during a live broadcast. Previous years, this was possible. I’m not sure if this is Zee5’s fault or a change in the way it was broadcasted. 5. The maximum quality being 1080p and not 4K. I also heard some people were stuck at 720p. What kind of quality is this in the year 2026?6. Only being able to watch one screen at a time after paying that much. 7. This is the first time every break has been riddled with ads and the broadcast doesn’t show enough of the players and the matches. Even the final, they cut to the pundits and didn’t even keep it running till the team left the stadium. All in all, I feel the bulk of us have been robbed. I still have that silly sub even though the WC ended 3 weeks ago! None of their content looks good and I don’t think the price is justified or that the service delivered. My favourite bit was when Jio started streaming the World Cup for free and I could stop relying 100% on Zee5. Goodbye and good riddance. Please do us a favour and don’t bid on any other competitions unless you are able to provide a good service to the millions of us that will tune in.
Rule number 1 for apps with streaming subscriptions is not to unnecessarily log out user devices. I pay for premium, log into my device and my parents device , well within the 5 device limit and this app logs out the second device when I’m away from home so they miss the World Cup game :/ Why? What’s the point of not having your state management for the iPad app behave like EVERY OTHER streaming app. This tells me they’re rolling their own authentication service instead of using a standard library so there’s definitely some more bad software under the hood.Rule number 2: DONT DISRUPT THE USER EXPERIENCE WITH NEEDLESS POP UPS. It’s incredible, how many weird ad pop ups this app throws on a tablet app that can only be dismissed with a small ‘x’ click like it’s a website. This makes no sense and is likely against iOS review policy. Every time you log in, you’re expected to dismiss the millionth advertisement like you’re on a website. Not great for senior citizens.
One of the worst subscriptions I have ever had.I subscribe to multiple OTT platforms, and I have never experienced such a poorly designed and unreliable app. ZEE5 has one of the worst user experiences among all the streaming services I have used. The biggest issue is that the app keeps logging me out on my Samsung TV. Every time I open the app, I have to log in again. Even worse, there is no proper Logout option in the TV app, making account management unnecessarily difficult. Switching between accounts is frustrating because the app lacks basic features that every OTT platform should provide. The app feels poorly developed and poorly tested. Navigation is inconsistent, the interface is confusing, and basic account management functionality is missing. These are fundamental features that users expect from a paid streaming service. When customers pay for a subscription, they expect a seamless experience—not repeated login prompts and a buggy application. Competitors like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Sony LIV, and JioHotstar provide a much smoother and more polished experience on smart TVs.ZEE5 has good content, but the app quality significantly undermines the overall experience. Unless the TV app is improved with proper account management, stable login sessions, and better quality control, it is difficult to recommend paying for this service.
