i always use Google Maps instead of other navigation or restaurant apps during my getaway trips. It’s not always precise (depends on which country) but except for so-called foodies leaving fake 5star reviews, most reviews are real so you can make wise choices before heading to a place. recently they updated the “bookmarks” so you can use emojis to customise your own lists. keep up the good work!

I am a big fan of Google Maps. I usually browse lots of information and places that can foster my visits and travel. I can also realise the latest development of other cities abroad to broaden my views. However, this app is now become not user-friendly. Lots of features are now hard to use and not customised. One thing that disturbs me the most is the spreading spam contents in this app. There are scammers pretending local guides posting spam contents to cheat money. No matter how many times I report them, these “local guides” are still not removed. Also, there are lots of spam and misleading places that hinder me to explore the places in Google Maps. Google Maps edit system is piece of garbage. When I edit the places reasonably, it often rejects my edits with no reason or explanation. I don’t understand why Google Maps use Automatic Verify System that are so unreliable that causes misinformation inside the app.Edit: Google suddenly suspended my Local Guide account without giving me reasonable explanations. My contributions to Google Maps don’t violate Google policies.

When you set a route, that plans out our directions and ETA, the switch away from the app for more than a few minutes, the app resets so the planes route and destination are gone!This is very frustrating when you’re on a train since you no longer have your route or eta. You have to tap in your point of departure, time you left and destination all over again. This can be impossible if you’re in an unfamiliar city, or don’t record the time you left.Why this app does this makes it VERY frustrating, and could even cause you to miss your destination. This can be downright dangerous if your in a compromised situation.Also, the satellite view is often, if not always photographed from angle, which hides roads and features you need to navigate behind buildings.

The turn by turn announcement doesn’t work on iPhone 11 Pro. Phone was restore from encrypted backup image from old iPhone X, and so all settings have been poured over. This has been triple checked and both on iOS 13.2.1. Performed side by side comparison of google map turn-by-turn announcements: works only on iPhone X, but fails on iPhone 11 pro. Ok iPhone 11 pro, app is able to announce initial directional heading, but fails to announcement anything afterwards. Even when arrived at destination, it is not aware of arrival (while iPhone X was). Interesting point being turn-by-turn announcements work on Apples native map app, so not a problem with GPS or other radio. App needs update to fix this ASAP....before people move to use Apple maps

Firstly, I reported the Hong Kong MTR exits missing problem and Google responded and fixed it, thank you very much. Secondly, There is just one more annoying issue that still persist, please give us the option to turn off being able to look inside a shopping mall, I understand it can be useful but it hides the buildings which are on top of the shopping mall. Navigating to the correct building and the building surrounding is more important than navigating to a certain shop in the mall.Thirdly, why are the Chinese names for roads and building removed? Can you give us the option to have both displayed like before or to show either one? Only showing English will hinder the usefulness for many people.

Google Map is very helpful in the States but for driving in HK, the instructions from Google are way far from clear and helpful. The roads in HK (especially HK Island) are so complicated and all the instructions from Google is driving towards some signs which a lot of times cannot even be found on the road or are so different from the signs that are available. Also, drivers in HK are generally impatient so Google needs to figure out instructions that are easier for users to follow (including real life signs, pictures etc.). Sometimes the instructions are just wrong and we couldn’t figure out how to report the mistakes.

I used to navigate with google map instead of apple map.However, there are something to improve.I am a transitional chinese user. First of all , the street or building display language is not under control by user setting. I know that not all of place have a chinese name, but i think it set priority of language display or display more than one language.Secondly, i would like to use watch OS version of google map to follow the guide path. Using one hand to holding a phone and walk around is not ideal experience.Sorry my poor English.

I use web version google maps on phone for years for research because I can keep the map always on without it resetting my location like an app, especially when I opted to keep the phone’s power saving mode full time on and many apps would pause in background when I switched away from them, which is NOT ok for a map. Also, an app burns more power than a website.Then I had used google maps app before but the experience is bad enough to make me uninstalled it, and now you force me to pick up the app again by not let me even search locations in the web version? This is clearly jeopardizing of freedom.

Voice input is working Fine with Apple Maps. Also it‘s possible to activate Voice input via Main Screen. In Google Maps there was an red mic icon in the bottom right corner. This icon is gone and Most of the times, when Voice input is activated via search Screen there is an immediate feedback that the input Cannot be processed. After cancelling and restart voice input it Works. But it‘s very uncomfortable and Not very Secure, while driving, to tap the screen, tap the search bar and then aiming for the small mic icon in the Upper right to activate Voice input. iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15.2.1, Google Maps 5.88 and an 2021 Audi.

Very good app. Mostly useful but needs some improvements urgently:1. Please fix navigation guidance. English language guidance makes an attempt to speak the Chinese characters at the end of road signs and makes an utter mess. E.g., ‘Kowloon’ is for some reason always followed by ‘GM joyna’. There are many such examples.2. Please update lane guidance for Cotton Tree Drive when coming from Wan Chai. It should ask drivers to shift to the lane to cotton tree before the flyover. After that double solids prevent you from switching lanes. 3. Same problem for Kornhill exit on route 5.
