Home tells you when somebody has said something. Their block lights up until you've read it, and one tap opens what they said. More conversation, less app. A friend's screen has been rebuilt around the column you actually read — the handle moved up into the top of the screen, the buttons are one line, and there's half as much furniture between you and the last thing that was said. You can see who said what at a glance. Yours sit to the right, theirs to the left. Tap a notification about something somebody said and you land on it, in their thread, instead of on the home screen. Say something back. SAY now takes a line of your own as well as a mark, so a photo with a few words under it can be answered in kind. Six reactions to choose from: LOVE, HA, WOW, MISS, YES and NO. Everyone you know has a thread. Everything between the two of you in one column — photographs at full width, keeping up on its own while you read. You will know what time it is where they are. Four in the morning matters more than "online an hour ago", so their card says so, and only when it is worth knowing. Home is bolder. Where you are runs across the top in the app's own face, and one band along the bottom holds everybody.

Say something without asking anything. SAY — open a friend's thread, tap SAY, and send LOVE, HA, WOW or MISS on its own. No question attached, nothing to answer. They send one back, and that's the whole conversation. PING and PHOTO have moved to the bottom of the thread, where your thumb already is. Your photos are back where you can see them: a strip of the pictures between the two of you, at the top of the thread. Tap any one to open it. One list instead of two. Friend requests and unopened photos now sit in FRIENDS with everyone else, and tapping a face on Home opens your whole thread with that person — every ping, every answer, every photo, in the order it happened. Home is quieter. Your profile and ADD moved to the top corners, the bottom edge is a single button, and it lights up when something is waiting. The map now appears only when a friend answers, and it shows where they are rather than where you are. However few friends you have, they fill the screen.

ANSWER WITHOUT SAYING WHERE YOU ARE Can't share your location? Send one of four quick replies instead. They still hear back — nobody is left with silence. SAY SOMETHING BACK React or reply to a friend's answer. Asking where someone is now goes both ways. EVERYTHING WITH ONE PERSON, IN ONE PLACE Open a friend to see every ping and photo between you two, in order. SEE WHO'S WAITING ON YOU A friend who has asked where you are now shows on your home screen, with their fifteen minutes running down on the card.
