HOW IT WORKS
1. Point your camera at any barcode
2. The ingredient list is pulled from a global food database
3. AI checks every ingredient and additive against animal-origin criteria
4. You get a clear VEGAN or NOT VEGAN verdict with a full explanation
WHAT IT CATCHES
• Meat, fish, gelatin, broth, lard, tallow and rennet
• Milk derivatives: casein, whey, lactose, butter
• Eggs: albumen, lysozyme, ovalbumin
• Honey, beeswax, propolis, royal jelly
• Animal additives: E120 carmine, E441 gelatin, E542 bone phosphate, E901 beeswax, E904 shellac, E913 lanolin
• Vitamin D3 from lanolin, L-cysteine, bone char refined sugar
• Isinglass and gelatin fining in wine and beer
HONEST ABOUT DOUBT
Some additives can be plant or animal based — E471, lecithin, mono- and diglycerides. When the origin is genuinely unclear, Vegan Check says so instead of guessing. You are told what the doubt is, so you can check the packaging or ask the manufacturer.
