Treadly: Running Coach & Plans
Couch to 5K, Half & Marathon
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Treadly is your adaptive running coach. Instead of a one-size-fits-all PDF, you get a training plan that adjusts every day to how recovered you are, the weather outside, and the life that gets in the way.
Tell us your goal — your first 5K, a faster 10K, or a half or full marathon — and Treadly builds a real plan with a purpose behind every run. Wake up, check your Readiness score, and get the exact session for today, already adapted to you.
WHY RUNNERS CHOOSE TREADLY
Adaptive, not rigid
Slept badly or skipped a week? Treadly rescales today's volume and pace instead of breaking your plan. Miss days, take a vacation, get sick — it reflows around you.
A plan with a reason
Every run tells you why it's there — easy, long, tempo, intervals — so you stop guessing and start training with intent.
Coaching backed by science
Treadly's guidance is built on vetted, citation-backed training research — not bro-science. Get a weekly review of how your training is actually going, and ask your coach questions in plain language.
Built for race day
Programs from Couch-to-5K and run/walk up through 10K, half, and full marathon — with a projected finish time that sharpens as you train.
Train by feel, backed by data
A morning Readiness score from your sleep and recovery. Heat-aware pacing that adjusts targets to the forecast. A week-ahead view so you always know what's coming.
On your wrist
Guided workouts on Apple Watch with live pace and distance targets, so every session comes with you.
Keep your gear honest
Treadly started as the best running-shoe tracker, and that DNA is still here. Rotate your shoes by role, track mileage, and know exactly when to retire a pair before it retires your knees.
Stay consistent
A weekly streak that rewards showing up — where a rest day counts as a win, not a miss.
FREE TO START
Try every feature free for 7 days. After that, Treadly Pro is $4.99/month or $39.99/year. Tracking your runs and shoes stays free, always.
Terms of Use: https://treadly.run/terms
more Strength that fits your gear. Tell Treadly what you own, a couple of bells, bands, a pull-up bar, and your strength sessions are built from it: the right moves, a weight to grab, and a matched pair before two-bell work shows up.
Warm up and cool down, right where you need them. A five-minute warm-up before your run and slow holds after, on your watch with a timer for every stretch. Optional every time, and never counted against your plan.
Your wrist got stronger too. Timed holds take over the screen with a countdown ring, rest timers keep ticking with your wrist down, and the weight to use is a chip you can read mid-set: heavy, medium, or light.
Also in 3.7: every exercise now has an illustration, the Rotation tab is now Gear with your shoes and setup side by side, days with a run and strength show both at once, and a session sheet that shows each move before you start.
3.7.0 7 hr ago
Learn your plan in your first week. Five short lessons appear on the Coach tab, one control a day: swap a run, adjust for how you feel, move your week around. Each lesson points at the real control.
Miss a run and the next morning shows your week reshaped around it. One tap keeps you on plan.
Your watch reads recovery after a run. That number now lands on your phone too, on Today and in run detail, with your trend over time.
Also in 3.6: your first run gets a named day and time when you commit to a plan, rest days can offer tonight's session instead, new runners start with a short calibration run so paces come from a real run, and the free week is clearer about when it starts and what stays free.
3.6.0 6 days ago
Strength days got a fix. Sessions had a bug that piled on sets and dropped the rest between them. Sane prescriptions are back, with rest where it belongs.
The This Week card stays short on big training weeks.
Days before your plan starts now read as rest days, not surprise workouts.
Plus a better voice cue when the work starts, and small fixes.
3.5.3 18 Aug
Bug fixes and performance improvements
3.5.2 11 Aug
A faster way in.
• Sign in and you're running. The long setup is gone.
• Today's screen shows a suggested run right away. Record it with your phone, free.
• Build your training plan in one tap, whenever you're ready. Your first week is free.
• Connect Apple Health on your terms, so your coach sees how every run went and how recovered you are.
3.5.1 7 Aug
Run with just your phone. If you do not run with an Apple Watch, Treadly can now record the run itself, with your guided workout, voice coaching, and live pace on the Lock Screen.
Heart rate zones are live. Your watch shows the zone you are in during a run, and finished runs show your time in each zone.
Strength sessions know what you lifted. Treadly suggests the weight for each move based on last time, and shows your volume total and trend when you are done.
Treadly also has a new look this release, and a new icon to match.
3.5.0 4 Aug
Your coach now tells you when you've got it right.
Settle onto your target pace and you'll hear it, not just a nudge when you drift off. Time checks tell you what's ahead: the work coming up, the reps left, the miles to go. And you'll get a heads-up just before you hit your distance.
New: post-run detail showing how every rep went against its target.
3.4.1 28 Jul
Your whole training day, on your wrist.
THE WATCH, REDESIGNED
New run screens: swipe between controls, big readable metric pages — now with Splits and Heart Rate — and your music. Everything one glance away.
Skip a segment with a double tap, or the Action button on Ultra. Water lock included.
Readiness now lives on your watch: on the home screen and in the Smart Stack.
STRENGTH, FIRST-CLASS
Strength days run natively on Apple Watch: set by set, with real rest timers between sets and moves.
Wren and Jay coach you through it — move announcements, form cues for the exact exercise you're doing, and a reminder when it counts.
New: Kettlebell Flow, an advanced program for runners who already lift. Turkish get-ups included — when your session is long enough to do them justice.
Every exercise has an illustrated guide. Did your strength without the watch? Mark it done with a tap.
TWO COACHES
Jay joins Wren. Pick your coach in settings — they'll introduce themselves.
HONEST INTERVALS
Interval workouts now prescribe timed walk recoveries between reps, with a countdown on your wrist — and the workout card shows every rep, honestly.
Plus: stacked training days are clearer everywhere, and dozens of refinements from real runs.
3.4.0 23 Jul
This update focuses on stability and polish:
• Smoother free-trial and upgrade experience
• Fixed an error when assigning a shoe to a brand-new run
• Corrected a light-mode display glitch on Crew cards
• General performance and reliability improvements
Thanks for running with Treadly. Keep the feedback coming.
3.3.1 18 Jul
Treadly 3.3 — Meet the Crew tab
Running with a friend is now part of your plan.
• Invite a friend to a run. Build a Run Ticket with the distance, date, and meeting spot, then send it to anyone. When your buddy joins, the run lands on both plans — and each coach adjusts the rest of the week around it.
• Two weeks of Pro, for both of you. Each friend who joins their first run unlocks 2 weeks of Pro free on both sides, up to 30 free days in total.
• Make it a standing run. Turn any buddy run into a weekly one. Skip a week when life happens, or suggest a change — either of you can propose, the other approves.
• Race confidence, front and center. The Coach tab now leads with your race confidence and predicted times — free for every runner.
• A clearer Today. Messages from your coach now live in one place, with the most important card always first.
• Unlimited shoe tracking, free. The shoe cap is gone — track every pair in your rotation at no cost.
Also in this release: rearranging your training week now shows exactly what changes before you commit, a refreshed sign-in screen, and fixes for the run-time weather picker.
3.3 16 Jul
New watch features and performance improvements!
Your coach now runs with you on Apple Watch — calling your pace, splits, and fuel out loud, and dipping your music so every cue lands. Coaching taps feel stronger on your wrist, and photo share cards now trace your real route.
3.2.1 14 Jul
Here are both, in the coach-first brand voice (no "AI" per the rebrand rules):
---
**What's New in This Version** (App Store release notes)
> Life happens — 3.2 makes sure your plan can handle it.
>
> **Pause your training plan.** Injured, sick, or just swamped? Pause and pick up where you left off. Your coach reworks the weeks around the break instead of guilt-tripping you — and short pauses won't break your streak.
>
> **An honest goal check-in.** If your race goal drifts out of reach, your coach will say so — and suggest a target your training actually supports. You can also edit your goal time anytime in Plan settings.
>
> **More to earn.** The badge case grows to 18 achievements across four categories — lifetime distance, race day, comebacks, and quality weeks. Unlock one and you can now share the badge itself.
>
> **New share cards.** Two new run layouts: Stat Sheet, a clean typographic ledger (treadmill runs look just as good), and Trend, your run in the context of your last four weeks.
>
> **Smarter heat pacing.** Hot-day pace easing now scales with your pace, matching what the research shows — slower runners get more of a break, not less.
>
> **Readiness with partial data.** Didn't wear your watch overnight? Treadly now reads what it has instead of drawing a blank.
>
> Plus sharper shoe-photo tips, a politer gear coach, and a stack of fixes.
---
**Promotional Text** (147/170 characters)
> The running coach that adapts to you — readiness, weather, and real life. Pause when life happens; race a goal your training actually supports.
---
Notes on choices: I led What's New with pause + goal retargeting since they're the two features that answer real user pain (Runna complaint themes: "too hard, no injury pause"). I left out the Coach Receipts ledger, share-link attribution, and the category change — invisible to users. The promo text is evergreen (it can outlive 3.2.0 since ASC lets you update it anytime) and quietly plants the readiness wedge plus both new headline features.
Want me to tighten a shorter What's New variant too? Some teams keep a ~4-line version since ASC truncates the fold on device.
3.2.0 9 Jul
Run with a Garmin, COROS, or Polar? Treadly now coaches you no matter what you record with. Connect Strava and your runs sync in automatically — they count toward your plan, keep your streak alive, and arrive with your route, heart rate, and elevation. Even runs from days you never opened the app get credited to your plan.
Also in this update:
Sign in with email — your Treadly account now stands on its own
A richer run detail from every screen: route map, heart rate, and a coach's read of the terrain you ran
Marathon plans no longer cap your long run too low when you train fewer days a week
Cleaner charts, a fixed weather time-picker layout, and tidier Apple Watch settings
Something feel off? Tell us from Settings → Send Feedback — we read everything.
3.1.1 8 Jul
Your coach just got a lot more to say.
• Coach's Read — Treadly now reads your runs back to you. Every run, week, and training block gets a plain-language read on how it actually went: pace, terrain, effort, and what it means for what's next.
• Coaching in your ear — On Apple Watch, hear spoken cues mid-run so you can keep your eyes up and your phone in your pocket.
• Best time to run — Live rain, storm, and UV are now built into the run-time forecast, so you can pick the perfect window.
• Know your route — Run detail maps your route and reads the terrain, with elevation highlights that explain the hills behind your effort.
• Refreshed share cards — A cleaner design, a new brand mark, and fresh progress cards — still free for everyone, always.
• A new look — Meet Treadly's new app icon and refreshed brand, built around motion.

1.3.2 10 Jun
Finding and adding shoes is much smoother now. You can search for nearly any running shoe, including newer releases, and request a missing model if it is not in our catalog yet.
We also simplified the add shoe flow so choosing how you use a shoe and adding it to your rotation feel like one clear step. Plus, we refreshed the shoe catalog with newer road and trail models, including more niche brands like Salomon, Mount to Coast, NNormal, Norda, Topo Athletic, Speedland, and more.
This update also includes a fix for the Pro upgrade flow when adding shoes.
1.3.1 10 May
Fixed an issue where Rotation settings could fail to save across sessions or devices. This update also improves background syncing for recent Rotation changes and fixes a visual issue where the add button glow could drift on the Rotation screen.
1.3 6 May
Version 1.2.4 — Reliability fixes
Connecting your Strava account no longer crashes the app.
New workouts from Apple Health are never auto-assigned to retired shoes.
Pro upgrades apply right away, even if our server is briefly unreachable.
Editing shoe mileage, stats, or rating now cleanly recovers if a save fails, instead of leaving stale numbers on screen.
Behind-the-scenes stability and performance improvements.

Bug fixes and login issues.

Fixed animation bug on rotation page
1.2.1 14 Apr

1.2.0 13 Apr
Strength that fits your gear.
