TingYue is a reading and audiobook app designed for foreign language learners and extensive reading enthusiasts. It supports importing EPUB/text files, automatic full-text translation, and multi-engine text-to-speech (TTS), combined with reading plans, vocabulary study and practice features that turn “finish this book” into something you can do a day at a time.

• Reading Plans: Split a book into segments you can finish in a day — set it by total days, daily minutes or a finish date. Your library shows plans in progress, a reminder arrives each day, and finishing a book ends with a recap.
• Vocabulary Study: Pick the word lists you want to learn and the app analyses how many of those words this book contains, highlights them as you read, and keeps your progress one tap away.
• Full-Text Translation: Automatically translates paragraphs or entire pages into the target language. Translations can be displayed below the original text or side-by-side. Supports multiple translation engines (including Apple Translate, DeepL, Google, etc.).
• Smart Reading & TTS: Built-in multiple voice engines, supporting offline and cloud high-quality voices. Suitable for intensive listening and shadowing practice.
• Reading Assistance: Highlights new words, word frequency analysis, sentence parsing, biomimetic reading, speed reading and blurred text exercises, AI dictionary, AI explanations, helping focus and memory.
• Learning Tools: Create study sets, add images and example sentences, dictation exercises, export learning materials, supports custom study set sizes and review plans.
• Practice Modes: Chinese-to-English back translation, blurred text training, split-screen side-by-side reading, and other interactive modes, suitable for translation, speaking, and writing practice.
• Customization & Extensions: Supports custom translation/voice/AI engines (requires API keys), and allows saving custom translations and notes.

• Listen button on covers — tap it on an audiobook cover to open the book and start playing in one go
• Your custom word lists now sync via iCloud, so a new device doesn't mean rebuilding them
IMPROVED
• Account, speech engine, dictionary, translation engine and AI engine settings have all been rebuilt — configuring an engine and previewing it now happen in one place
• Redesigned reader top bar, learning rail, side drawer, split view and theme settings
• Vocabulary analysis moved to a compact bar in the top-right corner, and now tells you when no word list is set or when the analysis failed
• Full-text translation can now fall back to Apple Translate when your engine fails; failed paragraphs no longer print a wall of raw error text into the page
• After an iCloud sync you can now tap “Download All” to pull everything from your other devices down again in one go
FIXED
• The full-text translation switch did nothing — and said nothing — when Apple Translate was selected
• Being signed out on a flaky connection, then unable to sign back in because fetching settings timed out (most noticeable outside mainland China)
• Books losing their group after an iCloud restore
• Word menus that wouldn't scroll when the note was long, and swiping up turning the page instead
• Chinese books pinned above groups on the library home screen
• Read-aloud losing the highlight on the current sentence after scrolling or changing chapters
• PDFs with tall pages having their top and bottom cropped; several seconds of freeze when opening a large book
• The magnifier showing nothing but a blank patch in continuous scroll mode
• Cloud icons still showing on books after iCloud sync was turned off
• The vocabulary bar jumping back to the first word when you tapped a word mid-page-turn
• AI dictionary content going missing at random during close reading
• A newly synced data type staying permanently invisible on devices still on an older version — this is how the reading plans from 8.10.26 vanished entirely on Mac. The data is now re-downloaded in full, automatically
