Recipeculator

Recipe & menu cost calculator

Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Price products, not just recipes — a market pot and a catering tub from one recipe. Now costs electricity, gas, labour and packaging too. Recipeculator turns your supplier prices into the numbers that actually run a food business: what each recipe costs, what each product costs to sell, and what a whole menu costs before you shop for it. COST EVERY RECIPE PROPERLY • Enter what you buy and what you pay — Recipeculator works out the cost of every recipe from it • Unit prices that make sense: per kg, per litre, per plate, per piece • Weight, volume and count units convert automatically, including cross-conversions by density • Sub-recipes: use a stock, sauce or dough as an ingredient in another recipe • Batch scaling for large orders COUNT THE COSTS THAT AREN'T INGREDIENTS • Electricity, gas, labour and packaging, charged at rates you set once • Change a rate and every recipe using it reprices at a stroke • Say whether a cost multiplies with batch size — an oven two batches share doesn't, labour does • Anything billed by the hour can follow the recipe's prep time automatically • Add your own: water, delivery, equipment time PRICE WHAT YOU SELL, NOT JUST WHAT YOU COOK • A recipe is a method; a product is a portion of it, in its packaging, at a price • Build a small pot and a large tub from the same recipe and price them separately • Packaging is costed per product, so the big one isn't simply four times the small one • Group products by channel — market, catering, pop-up — and keep the price lists apart • Food cost percentage and profit on every product PLAN AND COST A WHOLE MENU • Build menus from any recipes — no selling price required • Scale each one: 2× the terrine, 3× the tart • See the cost price of the entire service as you build it A SHOPPING LIST THAT ADDS ITSELF UP • One consolidated list for the whole menu, already scaled • Ingredients used in several recipes are added together • Quantities in the units you actually buy in • Tick items off as you shop, with the current price beside each one • Photograph the receipt and the total, date and shop are read for you, then compared with your estimate COST WHAT YOU ACTUALLY USE • Set a waste percentage on any ingredient — 1 kg of tomatoes yielding 900 g usable costs what it really costs • Shopping lists gross quantities back up, so you buy enough • Ingredients whose price hasn't been updated in months are flagged, so nothing is costed on last year's invoice SHARE WITH YOUR KITCHEN • Send recipes, ingredients, menus or products as one file • Works between different Apple IDs — no shared account needed • Recipes carry their ingredients, sub-recipes and utility rates, so costs arrive intact • On import you decide what happens to anything you already have KNOW YOUR MARGINS • Food cost percentage and profit per portion • A target food cost you set yourself • Price history, so you can see when a supplier crept up • Professional PDF cost reports with the shopping list attached WORKS THE WAY A KITCHEN DOES • Everything syncs across your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud • Your data stays yours — private iCloud, no account, no server of ours • Works offline; changes merge when you reconnect • Organise with your own categories, not just ours • CSV import and export for your whole library • 15 currencies Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://recipeculator.tokshernandez.cc/privacy

The costing sheet, finished. • PRICE WHAT YOU SELL — New Products tab. A recipe is a method; a product is a portion of it, in its packaging, at a price. Build a 150 g market pot and a 600 g catering tub from the same hummus and price them separately — the big one isn't four times the small one, because packaging doesn't scale with the food. Group products by channel so a market list and a catering list stay apart. • THE COSTS THAT AREN'T INGREDIENTS — Electricity, gas, labour, packaging. Set your rates once and every recipe using them reprices at a stroke. Say how much a recipe uses, and choose whether it multiplies when a menu asks for more batches — an oven two batches share doesn't, labour does. Add your own: water, delivery, equipment time. • CHARGE YOUR TIME AUTOMATICALLY — For anything billed by the hour, link the amount to the recipe's prep time. Change the recipe from 15 minutes to 40 and the gas and labour follow, without retyping. • ONE CATEGORY LIST — Your own categories now appear in the same picker as the built-in ones, and the lists actually group by them. Hide the built-ins you don't use, so "Dairy" and your own "Dairy & Eggs" stop sitting side by side. • STALE PRICE WARNING — Ingredients whose price hasn't moved in months are flagged in red, with a count at the top of the list. Set the window yourself, from three months to two years. • PHOTOGRAPH A DISH — Take a photo straight from the recipe instead of only picking one from your library. FIXED • Recipe ingredients are editable again. Change a quantity, switch the unit, remove a line — no more deleting the whole recipe to correct one number. • Tapping a recipe, ingredient or menu with a long name now opens it. Previously only the blank space to the right of the name responded. • "Change Photo" now works. It had been doing nothing at all. • Custom categories are saved. Choosing one used to be quietly discarded. • Sharing carries everything: products, utility rates, custom categories, price history and receipts. Older library files still import.
