How it works
Pick a photo from your gallery. Pick-to-Draw instantly extracts the most prominent, distinct colors from it and builds you a custom palette. Then draw — every stroke uses colors that belong to your image, so your artwork always feels cohesive and inspired.
Two layers, one canvas
Work like a real artist. Rough out your ideas on the Sketch layer first, then trace over them on the Ink layer for clean final linework. Toggle between layers in a single tap — both are always visible at once.
A toolkit that stays out of the way
- Pen — draw freely with adjustable thickness
- Eraser — clean up without losing your work
- Fill — flood-fill any area in one tap
- Eyedropper — sample any color already on canvas
- Custom colors — mix your own RGB color and add it to your palette

Reference image overlay
Keep your source photo visible as a transparent overlay while you draw. Adjust its opacity to see exactly as much or as little as you need.
Background removal (iPhone & iPad, iOS 17+)
Remove the background from your reference photo in one tap — so your palette and linework focus on the subject, not the clutter behind it.
Advanced palette control
Fine-tune how colors are extracted: set palette size, adjust color merging sensitivity, boost vivid colors, or hunt for subtle accent tones. You're always in control of your palette.
