Look up. Which way is the moon, how high, and how big is it tonight?
MoonNow answers those three questions and nothing else. It is not another
moon-phase calendar. It is an instrument that tells you where the moon is
in your sky right now, and how large it appears compared with every other
night of the year.
WHERE IT IS
- A sky dome from horizon to zenith, with the moon drawn at its true
azimuth and altitude for your location
- Hold up your phone and the compass ring guides you to it
- Rise, transit and set times, with the compass bearing for each
HOW BIG IT IS
- Geocentric distance in kilometres and apparent diameter in arcminutes
- Tonight's disc drawn against this year's largest and smallest moon,
at true relative scale
- Where tonight ranks among all the moons of the year
