You can now unlock all app levels for just CAD$1.39 / US$0.99

In this update, there are now help/info buttons on the main menu explaining the roles of the app's two in-app purchases. Also, animated question prompts that in previous versions left the screen after a few seconds now remain on-screen until the user answers, meaning users no longer have to memorize the question before it disappears.

With this update MMTS now has a level 3 for rhythm. This level features identification exercises for hybrid time signatures such as 5/8, 7/8 and 10/8.

In version 2.3 there is now a page ("About >> Level Summary") which clearly describes the content of each level.

With version 2.2, Mini Music Theory School now includes exercises to identify time signatures. Also, the app is free, with an in-app purchase to unlock higher levels of the exercises (users who previously paid will have automatic access to all levels). Please read the 'About' page in the app for details.

Version 2.0 brings several changes. First, the app now include a module that tests time signature recognition (both simple and compound time). The other big change is that the app is now free. New users will see ads. People who have already purchased a previous version of the app will not. New users may turn the ads off permanently by buying an in-app purchase. Original users will see a "Free IAP" link on the main menu. This IAP can be used to restore ad-free status in the event that the user deletes and then reinstalls the app.

Version 1.8 brings several changes. The app is now free, and displays ads. If you purchased an earlier version of the app, you won't see the ads, and you can also get a free in-app-purchase to restore the ad-free status in the event you ever delete and then reinstall the app. For users who are new to the app, the ads may be turned off by via an in-app-purchase. The app also now contains a rhythm module to test knowledge of time signatures. There are corresponding tutorials on my website that the app links to.

This is a maintenance release.

MMTS 1.6 adds major, minor and half-diminished 7th chords to the dominant and diminished 7ths that were added in 1.5. It also fixes a bug that cause the intervals module to crash.

With this update, MMTS now includes exercises for identifying dominant and diminished 7th chords.

This version fixes a bug that caused the app to crash occasionally. It also removes the tutorials from within the app (they were hard to read on an iPhone) and links the user to resizable PDF tutorials on my website.

Version 1.3 adds two tutorials: scales and modes. These cover chromatic, blues, whole tone, pentatonic and octatonic scales, as well as the 7 modes: dorian, phrygian, lydian, mixolydian, aeolian, ionian and locrian. This update also adds exercises in both aural and visual scale identification, in 3 different levels of difficulty.
