KettleForge
Kettlebell timer that counts
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Set your rounds, prop the phone against a wall, and lift. The front camera counts long cycle, jerk and snatch, and stores every rep with the second it happened.
KettleForge is an interval timer for kettlebell sport that counts your reps while you lift.
Set your rounds of work and rest, prop the phone against a wall, and start. The front camera watches the movement pattern and counts — no wearable, no sensor on the bell, no tapping between sets.
COUNTS THE COMPETITION LIFTS
Long cycle, jerk and snatch are recognised by the shape of the movement itself, not by a shake or a buzz. Each one has been counted in front of the camera against a real set and checked rep for rep. More lifts are on the way and they are listed in the app, greyed out, so you can see what is coming rather than wondering.
Camera missed one? Tap the count and it goes in.
START WITHOUT TOUCHING THE PHONE
Raise either hand above your head for two seconds and the set begins. The count box pulses and ticks once a second so you know you have been seen — which matters three metres away with a bell in each hand.
BUILT TO BE RUN BY EAR
Your back is to the phone for most of a set, so the phases are told apart by the shape of the sound and not only by pitch: one soft note into Get Ready, two hard strikes when work begins, a triad left ringing at the end. It sounds through the silent switch, and it ducks your music rather than shouting over it.
READ THE SET BACK
Every rep is stored with the second it was counted, so a workout is more than a total. Read your pace minute by minute and round by round — because 120 reps in ten minutes can be twelve a minute all the way down, or twenty for five minutes and then nothing, and that difference is the thing you actually train.
WHAT YOU SET
• Get Ready, work and rest durations, per round
• How many rounds
• Bell weight and whether you are lifting one or two
• How much of the camera feed shows through the phase colour
• Whether the camera counts, and whether a raised hand starts the set
PRIVACY
The camera is read frame by frame and never recorded. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account and no sign-in, and every workout stays on your phone. The privacy label says Data Not Collected because that is the truth.
IPHONE AND IPAD
One universal app. On iPad the counting works in any orientation, so you can stand it sideways on a bench and it still reads the lift.

Every round now has its own lift and its own bells.
A training day is rarely one movement — three rounds of long cycle, two of jerk, two of snatch is an ordinary shape, and until now the app could name only one of them. Each round is set up on its own; the bar above the transport names the round you are in, and through a rest it names the one you are walking back to. History says "Long Cycle +1" rather than calling a mixed session by its first lift, and a recorded set is laid out round by round, each with its own lift, bells and per-minute breakdown.
A workout adds up. The round list closes with Work, Rest and Total — the time that will actually be counted down rather than the time that was typed in.
Everything about the camera is behind the camera. One control above the clock offers the feed and the settings, and says which of the two it can honour. Tapping the clock opens the rounds.
A paused set is still a set in progress: the count stays on screen, the round list marks the phase you stopped in, and the feed can be tuned while the camera is idle.
The Get Ready you set is the Get Ready you get. A raised hand starts the workout and changes nothing else about it.
Fixed: stopping a set that was paused mid-round could crash the app, and a workout exactly an hour long read 60:00 instead of 1:00:00.
