Welcome to the GVNC Cultural District app, your guide to experiencing the best of Nevada County, California’s arts and culture. This app is designed to help you explore our twin cities cultural district and introduce you to some of the people and places that make this place unique.
The Cultural District is made up of two separate but interdependent and complimentary communities–Grass Valley and Nevada City. Both towns feature Gold Rush-era Historical Districts, each with its own special flavor and plenty of places to explore, whether you’re into art and culture, history, shopping, or the great outdoors.
What You’ll Find in the App:
Mobile Guided Tours: Explore at your own pace with interactive self-guided experiences highlighting local history and culture. GPS triggered stops feature photos, videos, audio and text descriptions. Explore on foot, by car, or on a bicycle and hear stories told by local people about the place we call home.
Visitor Information: Want to rent a bicycle, locate an EV charging station, or find a public bathroom? We’ll send you in the right direction.
Local Events: Our events calendar will help you find the best entertainment in the Cultural District during your visit. Whether it’s live music, gallery openings, theatrical performances, festivals, or other special events, there is always something interesting happening in the Cultural District.
Artist Directory: Art aficionados will love our comprehensive guide to the artists and culture bearers living and working in the GVNC Cultural District. Learn about their work and connect directly to set up a studio visit or make a purchase.
