Preview before you identify See your photo before sending it for analysis. Take your time, retake it if needed, and tap Identify when you’re ready. Add what you already know Entering a rock’s hardness, lustre, colour, or crystal system before identifying helps the AI provide a more accurate result. Not the right rock? Try again If the identification doesn’t look right, tap “Not this rock?” to get a new result – no need to start over. Labels on sketches Toggle “Add labels” before generating a sketch to get geologically accurate annotations highlighting key features. More free uses Free users now get 5 identifications per week, so you can get even more from the app.

Your identification queue now lives in your Collection tab! Look for the card at the top of your collection whenever you have photos waiting. A red dot on the Collection tab will remind you about queued items each time you open the app. When you're out in the field with no connection, your photo is saved to the queue so you won't lose it - and you can upgrade anytime for unlimited identifications.
