eGohm is the app of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Southern Germany. The Coptic word Gohm means "book" — and that is what eGohm is: the books of the Coptic Orthodox Church, in your pocket, at any time, without an internet
connection.
THREE LANGUAGES SIDE BY SIDE
German, Coptic and Arabic appear in parallel columns — verse by verse, paragraph by paragraph. If you follow the service in Coptic and want to read along in German, you no longer have to turn pages. You choose which languages are shown, and in which order.
TODAY'S READINGS, AUTOMATICALLY
The home screen shows what is read today: Vespers, Matins and the Divine Liturgy readings, with every reference from the Katameros and Synaxarium.
Nothing to look up — the app knows the Coptic calendar and the liturgical season and assembles the texts accordingly. For another day, just tap the date.

• Agpeya — the book of hours with all canonical hours
• Euchologion — Vespers and Matins incense, the anaphoras of St Basil, St Gregory and St Cyril, the fraction prayers
• Readings — Katameros for the entire church year
• Psalmody — doxologies, hoos, psalies
• Sacraments — baptism, chrismation, unction of the sick, matrimony, ordination
• Feasts and Fasts — the propers of the church year, ordered by season
• Hymns — over 10,000 Arabic taraneem, indexed by first letter, plus special prayers for feasts and occasions
LITURGICAL CALENDAR
Coptic and Gregorian dating side by side, with feasts, fasts and the turning of the seasons. The eve begins the evening before, as tradition has it — you decide from what hour.
WHO IS CELEBRATING WITH US
Many prayers name the bishops who are present — in the printed book there is only a gap. In eGohm you set once who is at the altar today: number, rank, name and the correct form of address are then right throughout the text, in German, Coptic and Arabic at the same time. If no one is present, those passages simply do not appear.
BUILT FOR THE SERVICE
Projection view sends the text to a projector or screen while you keep navigating on your device. Font size, colour scheme and light or dark mode are a second away — even in the middle of a prayer.
COMPLETELY OFFLINE
Every text ships with the app. No account, no sign-in, no advertising. What you install works in the church basement and on a plane.
The interface language can be set to German, Arabic or English independently of the text languages. Several German Bible translations are available.

Because the app has been rebuilt, settings start from their defaults — languages, colours and font size need to be set once. Feedback is welcome via "Report a problem" in the menu.
