Tap into the full USDA agricultural database. Download crop and livestock production stats by state and year, filter by commodity, explore - all stored on your device.
CropsNMore brings the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) database to your iPhone and iPad. Explore decades of US production data for crops, livestock, dairy, and more — filtered, charted, and exportable without a browser.
What you can explore
The app covers two broad sectors of US agriculture: Crops (field crops, vegetables, fruit & tree nuts, horticulture, and specialty crops) and Animals & Products (livestock, poultry, dairy, and aquaculture). Within each sector, drill down by group, commodity, and statistic type — production volume, area harvested, yield, price received, inventory, value of production, and more.
Data goes back to 1997 and is available at the state level for all 50 US states. Once downloaded, records are stored on your device so browsing is instant — no repeated network calls for data you've already fetched.
Filtering
Build precise queries using the filter sidebar:
• Sector and group narrow the category of agriculture
• Commodity focuses on a specific crop or product
• Statistic category selects what you're measuring
• Year range covers any span from 1997 to the present
• State selector supports any combination of US states
Filters update the results list in real time. When you find a combination you return to often, save it as a named preset and reload it in one tap.
Results and detail
Matching records appear in a list showing commodity, state, year, and value. Tap any record to see a trend chart spanning all years in your local data, a year-by-year breakdown with percentage change indicators, and the unit of measurement for the statistic.
When you're ready to work with the data elsewhere, export your filtered results as a CSV file using the standard share sheet.
iPad and iPhone
On iPad, a split-view layout keeps filters visible at all times alongside your results. On iPhone, filters and results are separate screens connected by standard navigation.
Data source
Data comes directly from the USDA NASS QuickStats API. No account or setup is required — just download data for the states and years you want to explore, and the app handles the rest. An internet connection is only needed to fetch new data; once downloaded, everything works offline.
Ratings & Reviews

Fixed a bug that caused silent failure when fetching usda data. Changed the first install experience to provide a download button for sample commodities rather than just alert the user that commodities need to be loaded before any fetch can be executed. Added batch saves with a smaller number of updates to improve performance when filters cover a lot of data. Added a button on the Data Cache page to delete all data (with an alert).
