Sequences (Beta) is now smoother and more reliable. Plasmid and sequence maps now appear at the top of each record and display correctly on both iPhone and iPad. The map layout is more compact, shows the appropriate circular or linear view, and no longer prevents page scrolling. NEW: SEQUENCES (BETA) - Open plasmid and sequence files (GenBank, FASTA, EMBL, ApE, SnapGene .dna) and Sanger .ab1 chromatograms from Files, Mail or AirDrop. - Circular and linear plasmid maps, sequence view with search, feature list, ORFs, translation, restriction sites, GC% and molecular weight. - View a chromatogram and align a Sanger read to your plasmid: mismatches, insertions, deletions and coverage, saved on the plasmid. - Viewer only in this beta. Your files stay on your device and in your private iCloud. FREEZING AND CULTURES - Viability and "frozen by" are saved when you freeze from a culture. Bank vials and keep the flask active, or reactivate a frozen culture without losing its history. - Thawed vials get feed reminders from day one. Culture rows show when the next feed is due. A freshly thawed culture reminds you to passage it once before an experiment. - The split sheet shows typical trypsin and medium volumes for your vessel and can hand the count straight to the Seeding calculator, which now remembers what you used last time. - Low vial stock warning per cell line (threshold in Freezer settings). Storage incidents can be edited after logging. CALCULATORS - New: qPCR delta-delta Ct (Livak), buffer pH designer (Henderson-Hasselbalch) inside Buffer Recipes, rotor balance map inside Centrifuge. - IC50/EC50 now uses a real 4PL fit when you have enough points and says which method it used. - Fixes: C1V1 no longer mixes %, x and cells/mL; ELISA 4PL needs at least 4 standards; calcium phosphate transfection shows 2x HBS, not Opti-MEM; Master Mix and Media Recipe refuse empty or impossible inputs; impossible buffer recipes cannot be copied or logged. RECORDS - Lab Handover PDF lists your active cultures first. Notebook PDFs name the period they cover and keep every detail line. - Protocol runs keep per-step times, notes and deviations. Experiments list all their deviations in one place. Timers that finish while the app is closed still reach your notebook. - Mycoplasma: a reminder when a test comes due, and an exportable test log per culture. - Backups can include your photos. LAB REFERENCE - Selection antibiotic working concentrations, codon reverse lookup with copy, ladders drawn as gel lanes, VoiceOver labels throughout. TIMERS AND REMINDERS - Snooze a timer notification for 5 minutes. A new Scheduled Reminders list shows everything the app will remind you about. No more double alarm when a timer ends with the app open. AND - Correct plurals, DD/MM/YYYY dates everywhere, an honest "Last synced" time, confirmations before clearing tasks or deleting a reagent category, proper "no results" screens, and privacy manifests for the widget and Watch.

On newer bottles, scan the square barcode to fill in the lot and expiry automatically. With Apple Intelligence, photograph the entire label and let the form fill in the name, vendor, catalog number, lot, expiry, and storage conditions—with every value shown for review first. LIVE TEXT ON YOUR PHOTOS Select and copy text directly from any saved photo in the photo viewer. BETTER DICTATION On iOS 26, notebook dictation uses Apple’s newest on-device speech engine for improved accuracy, especially for longer entries.

New in this release: TIME COURSES – For experiments with timed points (T0 + 4 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h, 96 h...): enter your T0 and the points once, and each becomes a named countdown timer that rings at the right moment – on your Lock Screen, widgets and Apple Watch like any lab timer. LAB BUNDLES – Hand a colleague one area of your lab: freezer inventory, reagents with lots, protocols, or cell lines. They import it like a backup and see a preview of exactly what will be added before anything is written. Photos stay on your device and in your iCloud. NOTIFICATIONS – The example data included for introducing the app never sends reminders, and the app now asks for notification permission only when you first create something that needs one. Also improved: - TCID50 now handles any evenly spaced dilution series (100-fold, half-log...) and refuses uneven series instead of miscalculating. - The Tm calculator warns when degenerate bases (N, R, Y...) are removed, instead of silently computing a wrong melting temperature. - Warning icons and accent colors are easier to read in light mode. - The Apple Watch timer complication now receives timer data. - "Hey Siri, start a timer" no longer gets lost when the app was closed. - Calculator names stay readable at large accessibility text sizes. - "How the app works" is organised into feature groups, with new walkthroughs for time courses and Lab Bundles.

Bug fixes, performance improvements, and data safety updates. One change to how numbers are typed: A full stop and a comma now mean the same thing: a decimal point. "1.5" and "1,5" are both 1.5, and "0.001", "0.125" and "58.443" are read exactly as written, whichever separator you use. This also means the app no longer treats a separator as a thousands mark. "1.000" is one, not one thousand — so type large numbers as plain digits, like "1000000". The cell-count fields show them back grouped as "1 000 000" for readability. A value written with two separators, like "1.234,56", is refused rather than guessed at. Also fixed in this release: - A crash in the Transfection and Freezing calculators. - Buffer Recipe could report a required volume wrong by a large factor. - Re-importing a backup could erase culture event history, experiment notes and checklists, or overwrite tasks and timer presets even when the import was cancelled. - Master Mix could pool each sample's template incorrectly, and saved templates now always reload. - Deleting an item could leave linked records behind; deletions now clean up consistently. - Renaming a cell line now updates everything that referenced it. - Reagent stock concentrations could be cleared during import. - A value typed with a minus sign or in scientific notation could lose the sign or the exponent in the grouped cell-count fields. - Photos, PDF export and the audit log are handled more reliably and use less memory. - 20 further VoiceOver labels for screen-reader users.

A stability and data safety update. -Fixed a rare problem where the app could fail to open. It now recovers on its own instead of leaving you stuck. -Fixed an issue that could delete photos attached to your records while the app was recovering. Your photos are now protected. -Import Preview no longer changes your real tasks and timer presets when you tap Cancel. -Fixed crashes in the Cell Seeding and Hydrogel calculators, and when opening certain cultures. -Reagent concentrations typed with a comma, like 0,5, now save correctly. -Deleting or renaming a procedure category no longer hides the protocols inside it.
