Bubble is an arcade platformer built with SwiftUI, featuring physics-based bubble mechanics, layered enemy AI, and a real-time combo multiplier system.
Game Mechanics:
- Bubble physics: projectiles transition from directed travel to upward float upon wall contact, with a 7-second lifetime before auto-pop
- Enemy AI: 3 distinct behavior profiles — Blob (slow patrol), Spinner (erratic mid-speed), Bouncer (high-speed aggressive)
- Trap window: enemies remain vulnerable for 6 seconds before breaking free — timing and prioritization are critical
- Combo engine: consecutive pops within a session yield increasing score multipliers
Level Design:
- 20 progressively difficult levels with hand-placed platform layouts
- Companion rescue objectives add a secondary challenge layer alongside the primary clear condition
- Score system incentivizes speed and multi-pop efficiency
