Seven questions about your household, and you get the tasks that actually apply, the dates that actually close, and a link to the office that issues each one.
The paperwork after a baby is not hard. The hard part is knowing what applies, and which dates actually close.
Baby Docs asks a short set of questions, then gives you the tasks that fit your household, in the order they close. Married or not. A job-based plan or the Marketplace. Born in one state, living in another.
WHAT YOU GET
- A personalized plan, not a generic checklist. Every task says why it applies.
- The real deadlines, marked as such. A job-based plan must allow at least 30 days after a birth to add the baby; the Marketplace is generally 60. Most of the list has no deadline at all, and the app says so.
- What to bring. Every task carries its own document list, so you find out about the certified copy before you are standing at the counter, not after.
- Where to actually go. Birth certificates come from state and county offices with their own forms and fees.
- Somewhere to put the confirmation number, and a nudge based on what the office told you, not a turnaround time the app guessed.
- A place for the paperwork itself. Photograph the certified copy and the enrollment form; they never leave this phone.
- Free reminders for the deadlines that genuinely close, and nothing else unprompted, so you do not end up muting the app.
- Works with no signal, no household-data account and no household-data server.
SEND IT TO THE OTHER PARENT
One link. They tap it, and their phone builds the same plan from the same answers, with their own reminders. The answers travel in the link itself when you choose to send it, not through a background upload. The two plans do not update each other.
IT SHOWS ITS WORKING
Every sourced rule links to the government page it came from, with the date that page was last read. Where there is no honest source to cite, the task explains that limit.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
It never files anything for you. No form is submitted or signed on your behalf, and it never logs in to any account of yours. It takes you to the official page and gets out of the way.
It never asks for a Social Security number. It tracks whether the number was requested and whether the card arrived, never the number itself.
It is not a baby tracker. No feeds, weights, growth charts or sleep logs.
BABY DOCS PLUS
Every task, deadline, document checklist and official link is free, for every child. So is sending the plan to the other parent and the reminders for the two deadlines that legally close.
Plus is timing and order: suggested-date reminders, a reminder you set yourself, a Sunday digest, and the recommended order, including what is waiting on something else. It also adds the calendar export, follow-up tracking, the document vault after the first twelve weeks, the printable summary and the employer packet.
If Plus lapses you stop adding new photographs. The ones already there stay, and stay openable.
Baby Docs Plus is a weekly or yearly auto-renewable subscription, the weekly with a 3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, or a one-time lifetime purchase with no subscription. Prices are shown in the app and vary by region.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within 24 hours of that end. An unused trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased. Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
