This update is about speed and battery life. The Mac app kept working in the background even when you were not using it, which meant constant CPU load and a warm laptop. While idle it now sits at zero. Some people saw the app freeze, or get shut down by the system, shortly after opening it. The work behind that has moved off the launch path, so the app also starts faster. On Mac, Settings now keeps its close button pinned at the top, so you can close the window without scrolling back up. Your things, your streak and your XP are unchanged. Same app, easier on your machine.
