1993年，佛乘宗第三代宗師李善單銜師之命，開始籌備興建佛乘宗祖師廟，並於1997年動工。在宗師善單的設計與領導下，這座代表佛乘宗法統傳承的仿唐式建築，於2000年完成安座大典，正式對外開放。為了感念佛乘宗第二代祖師 緣道菩薩，傳承佛乘大法於娑婆世界的魄力與恩德，佛乘宗祖師廟訂名為「緣道觀音廟」。
