— The smallest trails, the greatest adventures. —
Did you ever want to know how far that running route is? Are you planning for a biking tour? Or do you train for a marathon and wonder where you should go for your long distance runs? Or would you like to know how far you must run to burn that 1000 calories? Then TrailRunner mini is the route planning app you're looking for.
— Off the beaten path. —
TrailRunner Mini plans routes on OpenStreetMap — a map cared for by people who know their region. Discover marked hiking trails, singletrack and nature paths away from the main routes. Hillshade and contour lines show the terrain and make it easier to find your way.
— Read the mountain. —
Read the mountain before you set out — and plan ahead. Every route comes with a full elevation profile: climb and descent in metres, the highest and lowest points, and how steep each stretch runs. As you build a route the climb adds up live, and a bar shows how much is flat, rolling or steep — so you shape exactly the effort you want, and scrub along the profile to see where it rises and falls.
— Lost in the moment, never lost. —
Download a region in advance — the map and navigation keep working even when there's no more mobile signal and only GPS still knows where you are.
— Follow the trail signs. —
Follow the official waymarks with their distinctive colours and symbols. Where they're recorded in the official trail network, TrailRunner Mini shows the same markings you see out on the trail. So at every junction you can tell at a glance whether to keep following the marked trail or turn onto another path.
— Maps that show the terrain. —
See the shape of the land, not just the lines on it. TrailRunner Mini draws topographic maps with hillshade and contour lines that bring out ridges, valleys and summits at a glance, and lets you switch between beautiful regional map styles. Read the terrain around your route and choose the paths that suit it.
— Plan your perfect loop. —
Build routes to your goals — distance, climb or calories — on ways suited to running, hiking, biking and mountain biking. Read the mountain before you go: see climbs, descents and the course of your route before you start, and enjoy the day knowing what lies ahead.
— Your tour, on every device. —
Import GPX, KML or Garmin TCX/FIT files and turn them into your own tour. Edit them, trim them or bring them back onto real trails without losing the original course. Your routes, collections and landmarks stay in sync across Mac, iPad and iPhone.
TrailRunner Mini is built for runners, hikers, cyclists and mountain bikers who want to discover ways beyond the main routes.
Always follow local regulations and official trail guidance when exploring outdoors.

This is a very useful app for planning route to walk, run or cycle. It's pretty accurate when it comes to elevations let alone distances. It's exactly the app I was looking for to use on my Mac.The reason I have given it four stars instead of five is the syncing with RaceBunny for the iPhone. I have had the odd little issue with this but there is help on the internet at the developer's website and if you search Google. One thing to note on the syncing, it is working perfectly for me right now and has been for a while.Overall, very happy with the price for the app. Keep up the good work Berbie Software.
Easy to use with lots of functionality
Speleology
Over the years I've tried several GPX apps for mapping long distance bike routes. I always revert back to using TrailRunner mini. Practical, intuitive and reliable.
Graham Capper
Gala Harriers Coach
Use it for planning all cycle and running routes and for setting up training sessions for athletes
Too limited to be advertised as a free app with in-app purchases
Howsonatoe
I don't mind paying for additional functionality but this gave me 1 day then wants to charge a significant amount of money. If you want to charger for your app just charge for your app, don't pretend it's partly functional.
Developer Response
Hi, thanks for your comment. The one day is just to give you a first glance and in case you're really interested in TrailRunner mini, you can opt in on the 7 days free trial that comes with each subscription. The trial is without obligations as long as you cancel within that period. Have fun and stay healthy!シ berbie
Better: the app stays responsive while iCloud sync or a download is running — the activity icons no longer
animate, which was quietly costing every frame and could stall map and routes list at the same time
Better: panning and scrolling the map are much smoother — the elevation header no longer recalculates on
every frame, landmark pins are rebuilt only when landmarks actually change, and moving the map no longer
redraws the sidebar and inspector
Fixed: switching to another app no longer freezes TrailRunner for a moment
Fixed: at launch the map stays where you left it instead of jumping to your current location once the
location fix arrives
New: right-click a landmark — in the list or on the map — to delete its duplicates; the one you clicked is
the one that stays
Fixed: changing a landmark's type or colour now updates its pin on the map right away
Fixed: recorded tracks in some regions refused to open in the editor because a partly cached map area was
treated as complete
Fixed: a place from the search that cannot be located now tells you so, instead of looking like a click that
did nothing
Better: downloads are named plainly — "Load OpenTopoMap" with a simple count, in your language
