Chart coordinates now line up exactly with your printed pattern, so the row and column numbers on screen match the ones on the page. VoiceOver reads the unlock screen cleanly.

Many charts now arrive already in colour. Your library shows the finished picture instead of a page of symbols, and your floss list comes with every colour counted — no assigning threads by hand. Large charts also open and stay smoother.

Refinements under the hood to keep Stitchwork running smoothly. As always, your patterns and every stitch you've marked stay safe, synced, and yours.

Sharper symbol detection: when a chart prints its symbols as text, Stitchwork now reads each cell's symbol straight from the chart — so highlighting a colour selects exactly that colour, every time. Charts drawn with very light or faint symbols now count every stitch, too.

Marking big charts is smoother than ever, and your progress saves instantly in the background while you stitch. Smarter imports, too: charts that arrive as several renderings of one design now come in correctly as a single chart, and when a pattern needs manual set-up, Stitchwork reads the size printed on the chart and fills it in for you.

Colour keys now come through from more design apps, including patterns you've recharted yourself in MacStitch — import the PDF and your floss list is simply there.

Patterns usually arrive as a zip. Now you can import one straight from Files, Mail or Safari — Stitchwork looks inside, shows you the charts it found, and you choose the one you want to stitch. It also opens more of what designers actually send: HEIC and WebP images, TIFF and BMP scans, and OXS charts. And whatever you're sending it from, "Open in Stitchwork" works. Undo is instant now, no matter how big the fill or how far along your project is.

Found a mistake? Mark it, and carry on stitching. • Mark an area to frog and come back to unpick it when you're ready — your progress doesn't change until the thread is actually out. • Changed your mind? Clear the marks and every stitch stays exactly as it was. • Your progress backup is easier to find, for when you want a copy of your own. Plus the usual round of polish. Happy stitching!

Turn your chart, see it finished, and fly through a colour. • Rotate the chart to match your fabric — for wide pieces on a scroll frame. • See the finished picture in its real thread colours, from the chart or your pattern list. • Finish a whole colour across the area you're working, in one go. • Parking now follows the corner you stitch from. • Choose when your stitching day begins, so a late night counts as one session. Plus a better iPad layout and the usual round of polish. Happy stitching!

Fixes for the freezes. • Filling a block no longer stalls. Each cell in a block was being written to disk on its own — one tap on a 10×10 block meant up to a hundred separate saves, and on an iPad you could feel every one of them. It's a single save now, and your marks are still on disk before you lift your finger. • The Library, Progress and Floss tabs no longer lock up while they add your stitches back up. That work has moved off the screen's thread, so the app stays responsive with a large library or a big chart. Nothing changed about how your stitches are stored or synced.

Scanned paper patterns now import properly — including charts split across several sheets. • Scanned a pattern to PDF? Stitchwork now looks at every page and finds the ones that are actually charts — no more importing the title page and nothing else • If one chart was printed across several sheets, Stitchwork offers to join them back into a single chart. You see the assembled preview and set how many sheets across before anything is created • If the pages are separate patterns instead, pick exactly which ones to import, with a preview of each • The cost against your free patterns is shown before you tap, never after • Nothing is decided behind your back: when Stitchwork isn't sure how the sheets fit together it says so and lets you choose, and the grid it detects is always a starting point you can nudge One honest limit: a scanned page is a picture, so there are no symbols or DMC codes to read out of it. Scanned patterns get a markable grid and accurate progress; symbol search and the floss list stay with patterns imported from a designer's PDF. Found something that doesn't look right? Write in — this update started with a stitcher's email.

Easier importing, and fixes from an accessibility audit. • A clear "Import Pattern" button now lives right in your pattern list — no more hunting the toolbar for it on iPad • At larger text sizes the chart tools now flow properly: the band counter and Park All no longer squash or clip • If you share a pattern in while out of free slots, unlocking picks up right where you left off — no need to share it again • Tidier housekeeping of shared-in files Found something that doesn't look right? Write in — the last two updates both started with a stitcher's email.

iPad fixes, and a faster way to bring patterns in. • iPad: the Calibrate/Stitch switch and the tool panel no longer run off the edge of the screen — everything stays where you can reach it, in either orientation • Fixed the completion percentage stacking on top of itself on iPhone • The chart tools now scroll if they don't all fit, so nothing gets cut off at larger text sizes • Open a chart straight from Files, Mail or Safari: tap Share and choose Stitchwork • Clearer wording on the free-pattern count — the bundled demo has never counted toward your three, and now it says so Thank you to the stitchers who wrote in about the iPad layout — that's exactly how these get found.

Year in Stitches — your stitching year, in one screen. • See your year so far: total stitches marked, days at the frame, your best day, best month and busiest weekday • A month-by-month bar chart of how the year has actually gone • Everything you've finished this year, with the date and the stitch count for each • Share a card of your year — a keepsake for your stitching group, no account or sign-in involved • Honest about a part-finished year: it says "so far" and counts from the day you started tracking, never from January 1st Also in this release: • Find a colour and the rest of the chart dims, so the stitches you're looking for are the only bright ones

Your patterns, organised. • Library categories — In Progress, Kitted, Wishlist and UFO, worked out from your actual progress rather than asked for up front • Filter and sort your patterns: recently stitched, name, progress or date added • Add a whole kit's colours to your stash at once — paste the list, we'll match the DMC codes • Focus on an area: tap two corners and everything outside dims, so your eye stays on the patch you're working • Mark a patch for frogging when you spot a mistake — your progress stays put until you actually unpick it

The new Stitch Journal shows a heatmap of every day you've marked stitches, plus honest stats: stitches marked this month, your best day, days stitched all-time, and your average on the days you stitch. Tap "Share your year" to post a summary card.
