I have just started using this app and would rate it as a B- From a user’s perspective what would make this creep into the A category would be if along the bottom like other apps, while driving, it displayed the name of the road you are actually driving on (unless it’s there and I haven’t got the app set up correctly. I know on the map the road names are quoted but think the above would be a great finishing touch. Also and this is really frustrating, the app does not seem to recognise door numbers! For example, I live at number 32 and have loaded this as my address and saved it yet in the favourites, it only seems to store the street name, so according to the app, ‘home’ for me is 50 metres up the road. Fix these points and you would certainly get an A* from me!Update to developers response: I am not sure if you do listen to feedback. Prior to posting my first review, I sent an email last Wednesday at 18:49 BST but up until now, have not had a reply and with regards to street numbers -NO door numbers are being stored whether within my favourites nor when I enter a door number when entering an address into my search bar, it just automatically defaults to the street name. My question is simply, does Magic Earth store door numbers and if so, is there a setting that I need to change? Thanks

Version 7.9.2 update issues
vee8Al
Edit: After recently rating this app as 3 stars I would now like to increase this to 5 stars, this is due to the app developers listening to my comments on the iOS 15 CarPlay issue I was having. The app developers promised to sort the issue I had with version 7.9.2 and they then released a perfect update with no issues in a timely manner with version 7.9.3Thank you to the Magic Earth Team for listening to one of their users comments and thank you also for continuing to support users of iOS 15, it is much appreciated.Previous Comments by me…. Magic Earth was an amazing app in the 7.9.1 version yesterday, however the latest update today is a disaster..!! The current vehicle speed and road speed limit info in the top left of the screen which was ultra useful, have been removed in the Carplay iOS version and replaced with a duplicated battery level icon ( there is already a phone battery level indicator on screen in CarPlay… alongside a bizarre non moving number zero 0 which doesn’t appear to change from 0… Guys this was an amazing 5 star CarPlay app yesterday and is now a total unmitigated disaster today… Please, please, please revert back to the previous version 7.9.1 with the two speed indicators in the top left of the CarPlay screen, as the latest version makes no sense at all and is a retrograde update which loses functionality.

Hi and thanks for your review. An update will be available soon to fix the speed view for iOS 15. Best wishes, Magic Earth Support Team!
3 stars for now but would increase it to 5

3 stars for now but would increase it to 5 if the developers can sort out two problems: 1 - if you miss a turn, the app won’t recalculate a newer route , it will just make you turn back on your old route for quite some time 2- please put better voices in guidance, they all sound like they had covid and lost their voice Optional ( spoken road names ?) Good app overall, but still can’t yet compete with Google maps or WazeAnother problem is the app reporting speed cameras that are non existent
Good app, poor developer upgrade policy and support
Old Digger
As a longtime user of Route 66 then Magic Earth Pro then Magic Earth I am giving up on the developer. With each iteration it seems that users with older hardware are locked out. For example, I bought a perpetual licence for ME Pro. Then it was dropped by the developers and even though I still have the app, I can’t download maps. So I switched to ME. Fine, until a new update locked me out of downloading maps for my version of ME on an older iPhone. I fail to see why maps for older versions cannot be kept online. Now when I need the app, I can’t download the maps I require. So I either spend money buying a new iPhone to accommodate the latest iOS version now required by ME or I simply switch to another app. No contest there: Magic Earth is not the only horse in the stable. But what really irks me is the lack of response from the developers when emailed about these issues. I have emailed twice but received no reply. I don’t see why maps for legacy versions have to be removed and so far the developers have not bothered to explain the reasoning in response to my requests. I have ditched the app reluctantly and sadly can no longer recommend it.
Developer Response
Hi there and thank you very much for your feedback and rating. At this time, to install the latest version of Magic Earth, you need to have at least an iPhone 5S with iOS 12. You can check the minimum system requirements at any time on our Support page: https://www.magicearth.com/support/compatibility-and-requirements/Even with an iPhone 5S, the app runs perfectly fine and map updates cand be done with no problems. Also, if you have an older device than the 5S, you are able to install the latest version which was available for that device. Would it be possible to tell us when you sent the email? It is unlikely we did not respond to it, all emails which arrive at support@magicearth.com are replied to in maximum 2 work days.Best wishes,Magic Earth Support Team
