I had written a review about this excellent teacher-planner and student-data app previously because of how brilliant it is. I have used many apps that claim to make planning lessons and storing information about learners easier and more powerful, but none truly hit the mark until I delved into iDoceo. The developer Bert has done an absolutely splendid job in creating a powerful and incredibly user-friendly application that ticks all the boxes of teacher planning—and then some! He listens very considerately when you e-mail him with a query and has implemented many new features in the latest 3.1 version that I suggested, most pleasingly. He says he will implement as many new features as possible into the next edition, and I've no reason to doubt him, given my current experience. Download and use this thoroughly-comprehensive app, therefore; you won't regret it. Immeasurably more useful than any software currently on the market or your paper teacher planner. Buy it and you'll begin to see and experience very quickly how much more efficient you can be working with iDoceo. Thank you, Bert! Keep up the ever-expanding features in future versions so the app can continue to go from strength to strength. Nothing even comes close to it. I'm very much looking forward to the next update!
Fantastic all-in-one teaching assistant
FrightfulGentleman
I've been using this ever since I started teaching and loved it even though I was barely scratching the surface of its potential. The schools I worked at all had so much data entry in their own software that there was little point in using the grade book facilities in this. Instead, this was just an electronic Teaching Planner - as such it worked beautifully. Being able to switch between day-view, week-view and time line (allowing me to read through my projected sequence of lessons with one group) worked beautifully. Only complaint is that there was no template for lesson planning or convenient way to import plans made elsewhere into the main diary (rather than as an attachment) - in my early, trainee years, this would have been a blessing. Now, however, I've moved into a job where I need to keep track of all my own students and suddenly all the grade book potential is being unlocked for me. I'm creating detailed breakdowns of all assessments I set my students which link into all their details and, unlike fiddling around with Excel, is incredibly easy to keep standardised and easy to access.Still needs a fix on the lesson planning front.
'Makes substantial and sustained progress'
Aaaah, Bisto!
I work as the iPad lead in my school, and introduced iDoceo in late 2012 when staff were all to be given iPads. It was a good app then, though not as useful a tool as the one I could envisage. I was in touch with the development team a little at the beginning, and they were impressively timely in their response, and low and behold, suggestions which I (along with many others I'm sure) had made appeared in the update. This continues to happen, and the app is getting better and better, and more and more like the e-planner which will soon eradicate the need for paper. The integration with iCal, the various planning views and search functionality in the new update (to name merely three) have impressed me again, and I was moved to rate for the first time with any of the hundreds of apps I own. The initial price I spent two years ago was worth it within a week, and now has made its worth many times over. Our entire staff own and use this app. Thanks extended to the development team. Keep updating, and keep up the great work. Value has been added, higher order skills evidenced, and you're making Outstanding progress!
Developers do a great job

It's so good to see an app that the developer clearly cares about: running a discussion board for help issues, responding to customer suggestions in updates, taking time to reply personally to emails, and still coming up with important new features in every update. Updates are regular and add extra functionality each time. It looks like its been written by teachers, which not every teacher app out there can boast. It is also usable day-to-day, rather than being too technical. One or two minor issues still to resolve, I think: what about a diary function, integrated with iCal, that covers all classes and events? I understand the reasoning behind separate diaries for each class, but as often as I'll use that, I want an overview of my day from a diary. Also, a broader range of calculation options and conditional formatting in the mark book would make a real difference to me. Otherwise, it is the best teacher app out there, no question, and getting better all the time.
